FS: 2014 BMW M6 Gran Coupe - Individual Launch Edition

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
USD 60,800.00

Item Interest
*** POST UDPATED ***

This gently used vehicle (39,000 km / 24,233 mi) vehicle is located in the Toronto, Ontario area. It has a clean CarProof and is in excellent condition. The car is a “launch edition” vehicle that comes fully loaded with Individual exterior and interior (Pure Metal Silver on Silverstone/Black):

Features include:
- 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT)
- Executive Package
- Technology Package
- Full Merino Leather
- Bang & Olufsen Stereo
- Navigation System
- Heads Up Display
- Real-Time Traffic Information
- Full LED Headlights
- Carbon Ceramic Brakes
- and much more

The vehicle has is in great working condition, and comes with a full BMW CPO warranty with coverage until May 2020 (a $6,700 value).

My needs have changed, and I have been on and off with the sale this summer. However, having recently moved to a new home, it no longer suits my driving requirements. I'm only deriving about 300 kms / month now, and rarely use the highways - which is where this vehicle really shines.

I've dropped the asking price significantly, to hopefully generate a quicker sale. I am now asking $67,900 CAD (about $51,900 USD).

PM me for more details about the vehicle.

if you're registering it in the US, you need to research now to federalize it. I met someone who did it with a X5M recently, it didn't sound complicated, but there's definitely some paperwork involved, an inspection and some modifications to the electronics that will be preformed...so it won't be free.

And you warranty is likely void btw. But for a car like this, it might be worth the hassle.

* BUMP *

I've re-listed this vehicle for sale at a more aggressive price, in hopes of a quick sale.

I am now asking $67,900 CAD (about $51,900 USD).

Not being from the US, I have absolutely no idea what is involved.

A search online seems to offer suggestions of the more common task of importing US cars into Canada (not out of).

The only guideline I could find was on this page: http://willz.ca/importcanadatousa.htm

I can't vouch for how comprehensive and complete it is, but it is a starting point at least.

This car is a killer deal even for a US person who will spend money to federalize it. I will guarantee, when this car goes on sale again by the US owner, there will be no other such car in the US for sale.

OP: to help you sell this car to a US customer, see if you can locate a sticker on the door jab that states the car meets FMVSS safety standards. That's like 1/3rd of the way towards registering this car in the US.

24k miles, rare color, fantastic option combo (but no ZCP). I'm about to buy this car on principal alone.

it's a lot easier for a Canadian car since emissions and safety already passes EPA, NHTSA and CARB standards. You just need to get all the paperwork lined up. Generally, you need to pay import/export tax, get a safety sticker (likely from BMWNA), get a letter from BMW, and get it CARB certified (smogged I think). Try calling a dealership, they might even be willing to do the work for you for a fee.

How Do I Register a Qualified Imported Vehicle?

Imported vehicle registration applications require the same documents shown in the How To: Register A Vehicle From Out-of-State (Nonresident Vehicle) (HTVR 09) brochure available at www.dmv.ca.gov.

In addition, the application must include the following forms for:
•Customs—Evidence the vehicle has cleared CBP. Evidence is CBP forms 3299, 3311, 3461, 6059, or 7501 stamped or endorsed by CBP.
•U.S. Safety—Evidence of compliance with U.S. FMVSS vehicles 24 years old or newer. Satisfactory evidence is one of the following: ◦The federal certification label affixed to the vehicle certifies the vehicle conforms to FMVSS.
◦A copy of the letter from the manufacturer certifying the vehicle complies with FMVSS and U.S. emissions standards (usually attainable only for vehicles from Canada).
◦A copy of the DOT bond release letter issued by the NHTSA.
◦A certificate of conformity issued by a CARB-licensed laboratory.

•Emissions—Evidence of compliance with EPA and California emission standards. Any of the following are acceptable: ◦An EPA and California emissions label affixed to the vehicle.
◦A certificate of conformity issued by a CARB-licensed laboratory. No smog certification is required if this document is submitted for original registration.
◦A letter from the manufacturer stating the vehicle complies with FMVSS and U.S. emissions requirements (usually only attainable for vehicles from Canada).

Hey Ace, do you know if the gauges have to be changed to read mph? That’s the only electronics I can see being a problem.

based on my understanding talking to someone who has done it and reading forums of other people who has done this, the answer is yes.

The speedo will get converted to MPH. The car will actually go to a dealership for reprogramming. This might be a required work to get the sticker from BMW. If you call BMWUSA, they'll likely direct you to a dealership as a one-stop shop to get it all done. You'll end up paying for new speedo and programming work which likely will be around $2k. The CBP form is something they won't help you do. That's between you and the seller on getting it past customs.

Considering the car's price is $51k, you should expect to dump $5k-$8k or so into getting the car legal and shipping, which still represents a great value of what you get in return...a ultra limited edition car with low mileage and high options.

Again OP, if this was October 2017, this car would already be mine.

Beautiful spec. Like Ace wrote earlier, I'm tempted to give you a call just on uniqueness alone.
The value is great.

My problem is that I prefer other options.
I prefer MY15, CF trim, non-CCB, non-white interior, possibly competition pack.
Great having executive package & full leather though.

Considering I would likely mod it, and this is a car that should be kept factory pristine. Otherwise knowing the condition it is in, its very tempting.

Curious though, if you ship a US-spec BMW to Europe, do you have to convert it to km/l details & also repgram it?
