Took the Plunge

I've been looking at M5's for the past month or so but couldn't find the color combination that I wanted. And then I happened across the M6 Gran Coupe, I had never seen one and honestly had no idea they existed but fell for the car instantly.

I found a low mileage '14 in Chicago with all the options I wanted and contacted the dealer. Three days later I wired them the cash. We're currently waiting to effect transfer as I insisted on an enclosed trailer.

Wish me luck, I've never seen the car in person much less driven one but if it's at least as good as my `09 335i I'll be happy.

Same thing happened to me. Was looking for an M5 with my first kid on the way. While on the dealers lot they showed me this and it was love at first sight.

Gorgeous! You’ll be extremely happy when you see it in real life... And you selected the best colour I have similar, just an LCI model, and naturally drives from the wrong side (in down under)...

Welcome to the M6 family!

Congratulations you will be extremely happy with your new ride. For me it is the most beautiful and gorgeous car.

Car is beautiful. You say it's a 14 but those wheels look to be a newer style

Those wheels were the launch wheels for the Gran Coupe. Competition 601m and 343m wheels were available as options.

Jake secured transfer this afternoon, the car will be picked up tomorrow and delivered on Monday.

I'm stoked, this will be the nicest vehicle I've ever owned by a large margin.

I'll be ready with the buffer and nearly a full tin of pinnacle black label. 🙂

Congrats bro! I also came from an n54 e92 335i, this car is better in every way other than size and handling. It's 10000x more reliable too!

It's in route! Nestled in an enclosed trailer, should arrive Monday barring any major catastrophes.

This will be the best Monday ever.

I didn't sleep the night I picked up my car from the trailer. But literally it's because it arrived at 3 AM

Well, the car showed up day before yesterday.

It was pretty filthy when it rolled out of the enclosed which kind of pissed me off. Then I walked around it and noticed that the wheels had been curbed badly. It looks like they tried to fix the rears and left front by sanding them down and then buffing them.... they are smooth but the damage is apparent. The right front must have been too bad to even attempt so they just left it.

Also it came with one key and no thirty day tag or title and there was a nearly 400 mile discrepancy between what was on my paperwork and what the car showed.

I was furious, immediately tried to call Jake at Mancuso but he didn't answer.

Some time later I got a text from him asking what was up. I listed the problems and he said that he didn't see the car before it left but that he would take care of the wheels and find the spare key.

My 30 day tag arrived today but I haven't yet heard anything about how they plan to make the wheels or key right.

I ran it through a toucheless car wash tuesday on the way home to try to get most of the funk off and I'll do a full detail saturday.

I know it has a few spots and most of it I can correct but I'm just a bit gutted at this point.

I love the car but at this price point I didn't expect a project.

I've worked in the service end of the automotive industry for twenty five years now, what is the fix for that last image?

I know the feeling. I bought my 6 without seeing in person, I googled a local mechanic check it out.
Definitely had some small things that I didn't know/notice before I wired them the $.
Most power is when the $ is in your hand... Their attitude is like night and day...

400 miles isn't bad, prob was driven by the dealer.
Beautiful car though, I hope you get everything sorted out to your liking.
