Touch up paint (jet black F15)

My garage door took a chunk off my tailgate (for some reason tailgate opened by itself overnight), it looks like scarface with a line going from tail light to rear glass with a section down to bare metal..

Has anyone used this:
http://www.amazon.com/Black-Touch-Up...dp/B00M275M48/

In the past I used the OEM brush type on my E70 but I wasn't happy with the result, as described it looks blobby (i didn't sand or anything) I am wondering if this pen type will result in more natural finish? Also do you usually follow up with scratch-x or compound to smooth the area once the paint dries?

Thanks

Try dr color chip instead. You put it on the use a solvent to buff it smooth.

I have used a pen before on chips and deep scratches and it works quite well if you are careful. Just be ready w a wet cloth or sponge if you go out off the target area

Looks like they ran out of jet black, I might have to look for an alternative -short of taking it to body shop or dealer for a buff, but I'd look for others since bare metal is showing and I don't want it getting worse.

Is it this one, what's the difference between kits?

That's the one but if you go to their site you can order different size kits, confirm color code etc.
