I know eh? For about 24 hours after Dougie's little announcement, I was fairly certain I was living in a police state there. And it wasn't sitting well with me. But I did like the clip.

On another note, saw a cop speeding down a private road that I and others on the road jointly own and it royally pissed me off. No lights, no siren, and we have a lot of kids playing on that road. Had I been closer to the road I would have stepped out to have a little discussion with the fine individuals in the cruiser. Might not have ended well for me, and I might have received a matching set of shiny bracelets, but I would have done my best to make sure they had a bad day too. Cause I'm a bit of an asshole when I get angry. If I see it again and I can't get out there, I'll be pursuing a formal complaint with the OPP.

I have no idea why they were doing that and all I can say by way of possible explanation is this. Sometimes the cops don't use lights and siren because they don't want their presence known. But by all means express your concerns.

Nah, I know that, but they were coming from a dead end back to the main line. They either take it slow, or they announce that they need to go fast so people have a clue. No throughfare on our road and it is probably less than a km long, so there is no need to go that fast - they aren't saving any appreciable time.

Like I said, while I'm bothered by it, I'll let it go unless I see it again. Could be my kids down there the next time.

When my wife and I were dating she spent 6 months in OZ and there was a great ad campaign with a women in a state of flush and the ad says "get some pork in you" .....she was staggered that was allowed.

Whilst i am going down the aussie ad youtube rabbit hole, this ad absolutely hit a note with the populance, people just loved and to this day, NOT....HAPPY.....JAN is a common saying that refuses to die even as the new generation emerges. It is now part of the vernacular.
