Escort 360c w/ BlendMount
A recent PM from a member here asked for photos of what the BlendMount looks like as opposed to the suction cup of the 360c, so I'm posting here for the reference of other members who may have a similar question.
I started with the MirrorTap, but later came to understand that I needed the 'dongle' assembly that goes with the internal wiring harness for the ZW5 wireless shifters which required hard wiring into the car. Using a guide posted here related to install of a dash cam, I routed the wire along the window, down the A-pillar, behind the side vent, across and below the steering column, down into the center console, and tapped the 12 volt circuit off of the cigarette lighter, knowing that to be fused. The first two photos are the 'before' using the suction cup mount. You can see how much farther the detector is away from the driver's position when it's placed on the glass. The second two photos are using the BlendMount. Note how much closer to the user it is, and the less obtrusive and distracting. I also added an aftermarket head unit to replace the OEM display, and run the Escort Live app, giving me clear visual alerts and ample advance notice right in the dash when driving. I'll probably experiment with Waze and/or Escargot also, at some point. Last edited by Cincinnatus; 06-19-2019 at 10:01 AM.. |

This looks great! I've got the same detector and really don't like where I have to plug in the power cord in the 640 compared to the 535 I had previously. Wish I had the mad skillz you've got to mount this... might need to look into someone "helping" me do it.
