Hideous. Those wheels look like a budget ripoff option for winter tires.

Also it seems that you're a minority. BMW aint stupid enough to sell what isnt selling. You can be open to ur opinion. But dont degrade others with different opinion. |

The day I test drive the 5GT I got back to the dealership and asked the salesman if I could spec the tiller in CF. Took him a while to catch that I was calling the thing a yacht.

That new M Performance logo still suck enormous balls. Looks cheap as fuck. Should have stuck to the basic Helvetica based font.

Let's be real... had oil not been as insanely cheap in the 90's causing us Americans to have some torrid affair with SUV body styles, we'd be leveling these complaints and insults toward anything with that general shape or derivation, insulting the idea of sporty and performance models in that vein and performance parts for the same. I'm a fan of traditional sport sedan forms first and foremost, but with a son at 16 months trending toward greater than my 6'3" height based on percentile, I have an understanding for this format, even if I prefer a 7er LWB format for looks alone. The styling of the 6 GT is >>>>> the 5 GT, and the platform is based on the LWB 5er instead of the SWB 7er, which is a smart move. You can insult this all you want, but the more obscure/colloquial an M model you want, the more you need BMW to exploit every suitable niche possible. I can tell you from the front lines that the 3er GT has had 10x + the success that the 5er GT had, and this seems closer to that. I don't like all the M Performance parts equally, but I dig the idea, for example, that big brakes are out there for this much vehicle. I doubt there will be an ///M model of this car, but if there can be ***2 GENERATIONS*** of a vehicle as improbable as the X5///M, why not a few performance parts for the machine that is in the same weight class and has a lower center of gravity???

Lol, all these comments are quite entertaining. IMO! I would rather see designs like this coming to fruition instead of a fleet of heavy high CG boats(SUV's) that all the manufacturers are spewing out these days...
The wife now has a job where she is carrying around clients here and there and a few of her clients have commented on having to climb up into that Giant boat of a Merc GL she drives... A vehicle like this would give my wife that feeling of expansive nothingness that they mistake for tons of room (read all the space above the occupant heads that tricks you into thinking you are in a giant expansive vehicle). The large rear seat area with slightly higher roof line makes for a really SUV like felling interior. Yet it is based on a car chassis, which will handle better and be more efficient. Not to memtion with the hatchback you have all the practicality of a large SUV, especially with the rear seats folded down when extra room is needed. IMO this is a win win. The design isn't much different than the Audi A7 albeit with a higher roof line. IMO this would be an easy transition for the wife to transition from an SUV to the GT as she would still have that feeling of expanse in a car. Every car I bring her to test drive she comments that she feels so closed in and stifled as she is used to all that dead space over her head in her daily driver boat SUV. The benefit to all this negativity in the US toward this car will only equate to large discounts due to slow sales. IMO another win for this car.... IMHO! This GT design is what we will continue to see in this country instead of the lovely wagon designs since Americans have all of a sudden become allergic to wagons... The CRAP SUV is taking over on the practical vehicle front unfortunately. I don't know what I would do if there were only SUV choices from all the manufacturers!!! What would you do? Drive a GT or surrender into an SUV????
