WOW ?!?!
SO amazing he was not injured....or anyone including Jos in this debacle! I remember watching it live during the race and the immediate thought was....people will perish.

When Smokey and the Bandit first came out it was a revelation for car guys and knocked Star Wars off it's top perch..thank goodness.
I watched Stacey David's piece on the film and everyone at the time either wanted a black Trans Am with the huge gold eagle on the bonnet or wished they could own one,I say actually 'own' and not have the lease or hp nonsense they have now that reduces our car values and fiddles car sale numbers.Stallone drove one in one of his boxing films.

There was a Burt Reynolds Special Edition Trans Am available completely reworked from ground up with a 600 hp LS7 engine..if Reynolds had one of those at the time then Buford T Justice wouldn't even SEE it.

I am SO surprised that my UK friend knows so much about trashy American cars (I know, I know, I'll hear about this)....

A recent GP Racing magazine that I subscribe to (formerly F1 Racing) has a story on Brands Hatch!

My US friend,I could go on until the cows came home, those cars meant something though the high ci engines didn't produce that much hp it was those hoods with cut outs with the secondary carb covering and race type body shape wings with the jutting front wheel spoilers which opened the market up from the trashy foreign and american boxy cars like the Allegro (all aggro) Marina (Rustina) AMC Pacer (football) and Gremlin (already named)
