ive had back problems going into this workout but ever since working out, my back hasnt given me any problems. Id suggest pushing your stretch routine a little longer. Id make a list of all the different stretches used in the dvd and do it at your own pace then jump into the workouts on the dvd.

Just finished my first week and it feels great, im just waiting to see some weight loss. I feel a lot stronger than before the workout though.
Yeah actually my back feels a lot better today. Probably just a case of weaker muscles in that area that I have not worked out enough in the past. I still feel like the stretching routines are a bit lacking so I'm gonna give myself a few extra minutes before and after to do my own stretches.

OK, so today is supposed to be my off day but I feel guilty for taking the weekend off, any suggestions on what I should do today? I don't feel like I need the rest today, I'm thinking about spending some time on the stationary bike and doing just the Cardio ABS section.

I did Cardio recovery on Saturday, skipped yesterday but helped my daughter move so I did get some "work out" in.

I did decide to skip my fitness test and just continue with the next workout. I see the results from the program, I have no need to test to prove it.

I'm back on this morning, I got a heart rate monitor last week so I have been watching my hr while I work out which is interesting.

Very nice! Those are some impressive gains. Are you planning on repeating insanity or moving on to a new program?

I initially did P90X, completed it, and now have just completed Insanity. I plan to do P90X+ this week. However, I travel next week. This is the time of year that I travel often for business, so I am trying to see how best to incorporate P90X+ into my schedule.

My goal was/ is to cycle between P90X or P90X+ and Insanity.

Add me on here also fellas. I'm on my second week but started last Thursday so really I completed just a week so far. Love playing bball so I'm digging the bball and football drills. Man this workout gets me soaked just doing the warm ups but I love it. Really trying to follow the nutrition guide as much as I can and keep my diet clean. I guess we all keep each other motivated and post some results. Good luck everyone and Dig Deep!!

Had to miss Tuesday as I had to travel early, did 50 minutes on a stationary bike yesterday morning in the Hotel, then back to the program last night when I got home, Pure Cardio and Cardio ABS.

This program has ignited my sweat glands, I think about Insanity and a pool forms underneath me.....

I talked to a distant co-worker yesterday that is about 8-10 years older than I am, he was having issues with the program and keeping up. Made me want to remind everyone, and even though most of you are younger than I am understand you don't have to keep up with all of the exercises, and you can adapt this to low impact pretty easily. Once you have your heart rate up just simple moves will keep you there and in the zone, do as much as you can but don't be disappointed that you aren't doing 100% because you are still doing! It may take me 3 or 4 iterations of the entire program before I can do everything, but so far after 3 weeks I feel so much better, look so much better, and can't wait to keep this going.

I just finished day 13 of Insanity so tomorrow is my rest day. I have to say I have a definite love/hate relationship with this program. Anyone who is doing it knows exactly what I mean haha! I def am getting more used to the workouts though. The first week my thought was just to survive the routines. Now my mentality is about about trying to attack the workouts. I have heard though that once you switch into month 2, it will feel like starting all over again because they crank up the intensity even more.

Have any of you guys gone from P90X to Insanity? How does it compare?

They are different. Insanity relies solely on your body weight whereas P90X incorporates weights as well. I believe completing P90X helped me with Insanity. I was able to complete all of the exercises and go for the entire duration of the workouts; however, Insanity is still difficult. It is more cardio, plyo, non-stop movement than P90X; however, you need the breaks in P90X because you are asked to lift weights as well as using your body.

Heck, P90X is still challenging. I finished Insanity on Sunday, and this week I started P90X+, the maintenance schedule because I will be traveling on business. Well, yesterday called for Upper Plus followed by Ab Ripper X. Ab Ripper X was still challenging even after having completed P90X and Insanity. Insanity has also helped me with doing P90X+.

My physique changed more with P90X than with Insanity; however, that might just be because I started P90X first.

I completed P90X and jumped right into Insanity. I would say Insanity is more challenging because it is a super intense workout. Insanity is 90% cardio with some resistance training in the form of pushups and shoulder presses, whereas p90x is mostly resistance training, along with cardio and some yoga, so it is a more comprehensive program IMO. With the greater emphasis on resistance training, you will probably gain more body mass with p90x. In general I would say do p90x first because while the workouts are hard, the pace Insanity may make you want to quit when you first start out.

i saw a video of some guy that came off of p90x and got his butt whooped when he started insanity. Insanity is all about cardio and p90x is about getting those muscles defined and strong. Im planning on doing p90x after completing insanity. Insanity was a much more feasible program to start out because it doesnt require equipment. P90x on the other hand does require equipment to complete and I dont have any equipment at the moment.

It really does not take THAT much equipment to do p90x and you defintiely do not have to buy their branded stuff. I got my pullup bar from sports Authority for like $30. Make sure it is the kind that includes a wide grip. I bought some resistance bands for $15 from Wal-mart but found them to be rather awkward to use so switched to free weights that I also bought from Wal-mart. Spent $40 total on them. Also got a rubber workout mat from Wal-mart that doubled as my yoga mat for somewhere around $10-15. I didn't bother to get pushup handles, but I'm sure you can find them pretty cheap. I also bought a heart rate monitor for $40 or so on Amazon, but if you are doing Insanity, you probably already have one, and if you don't you really don't need to get it. Your cardio will never get to the level that it does in Insanity. So all in all, the equipment is not that expensive. I def recommend you try p90x when you are done with Insanity!

exactly what I'm planning to do. I wanted to lose a little weight doing insanity and gain some muscle mass doing P90x. All the result vids I viewed on YouTube has mostly been people doing P90x and then insanity. Couldn't find one the other way around.

I just got a Polar RS100, was less than $100 with the chest band on Amazon. I really like having the monitor, I record my workout, then journal the summary to see how I am tracking from a heart rate perspective.

When I traveled last week and did the stationary bike in the Hotel it really helped me kick up my workout there as well. In addition it was cool that the Hotel's stationary bike was "Polar ready" and automatically connected to my monitor and displayed my heart rate on the info screen.
