I found this cheap carbon fiber diffuser someone was selling on eBay which I think looks a lot better than factory diffuser.
The only reason I went aftermarket was due to factory diffuser was missing one piece which holds the bottom of the diffuser. Buying that single piece was more than this aftermarket diffuser.

I'm looking to install dual tips on factory exhaust by cutting the square tips.

Any recommendations? Can I go with 3" tips without problem?

I have a different CF diffuser on my 650i and was able to do quad 3.5 inch tips easily. It looks like your openings are a little smaller, but it's easy to test. Cut out some 3 inch circles from paper and mock it up...

Can you post a picture of your tips, did you do any other modification other than cutting the square tips?

Definitely want to do 3.5. One picture is with the 3.5 and 4 inches on one side and the other is just3.5 on the factory diffuser. That is a nice come up though on your diffuser.

I like how your car looks but It looks like you used aftermarket exhausts. I want to keep the factory exhaust and replace the square tips with dual tips. If 3.5 can't work, than 3" will work for sure I think. I just want to see if anyone tried dual tips on factory exhaust.

I have the same diffuser with M5 mufflers which have 3" tips which fit perfectly. 3.5" should work too.

Agreed. The problem is that the round tips that are inside of your trapezoids are too close together to allow for 3.5" tips.

What do you people think of this one?

https://www.ebay.de/itm/401552033144?ul_noapp=true

Anyone knows Carbonstar? Seems to be fine stuff (material) and price reflects it. How do you judge the looks of this diffusor when paired with the original pipes?

If I didn’t have the damn problem with our TÜV I would have ordered already stuff from them as they seam to be of good quality. The base is here in Germany as Farbauswahl I know.

Indeed I always look to order stuff from Germany as I do not live very far. It appears to be of good quality. Also they describe their product carefully and guarantee it is 100% real carbon. And for that price it should be also.

Speaking of TÜV I would probably run into the same problem here in Swiss Land but my 1st inspection is in 2022 so I could "gamble" and remove it then in case they make stories. But that is really far away......
I thought though it was "eintragungsfrei".

So guys, I installed the Carbonstar diffusor. the fitment is ok. You have to add some screws as the snap in latches are not as effective as they should.
BUT.....now I can see the lower part of the trunk. does anybody have the same problem?

Now you are coming with those parts. You should post it here

By the way, I solved the problem with the gap. The diffusor just stuck in place and as soon as I removed it everything was good.

It depends on what you want to change. If you find a diffusor for your car no change needed. I believe the most diffusor are for the M-bumper. The same applies for the muffler tips. If you find parts for your car no changes required.

Oh yes, absolutely. I think it is the best price-performance. The fitment is good as well. Carbonstar have more of those parts.
