After Zymol Carbon

Here’s a pic a took the day after applying Zymol Carbon Wax. It went on and off so easily I thought Mr. Myagi did it for me! This morning I went out and hit her with Meguiar’s Ultimate Quick Detailer (That’s a mouthful!), and she came up like you can’t believe. I had forgotten all about the supremacy of carnauba.

I also did the Mercedes (mint condition 2001 CLK430 in Magma Red with only 31k on the clock) this morning and I am all waxed out for the moment. Plus my right shoulder is really sore. On the upside, my Apple Watch gave me credit for burning over 800 calories.

Have a great weekend!

With the many freeway trips you have made, how is your front doing?

It’s doing well, not perfect. I’m waiting for a few more dings, and then I’ll touch up. How’s yours?

Mine has done surprisingly well, although I’m not on the freeway all that often. Whoever did the respray before I purchased it did a pretty good job. They did a full removal for paint, unlike the many that I saw when I was shopping.

BTW, the new wax job looks great, well done.

Thanks! You really find out how big the GC is when you wax it. Normally I’m very picky about those pebble dings, but with the front end, I’m a little more tolerant. I have the touch up paint and the clear. I use a Lowe-Cornell Paint pen and it works better than anything I’ve tried before. I drove to Malibu for a loaf of bread this morning and stumbled onto what looked like a very large exotic car show. It wasn’t organized or anything, just a few hundred guys showing off their cars. Was fun!

That paint pen is awesome. I also got a cheap syringe set per Larry/AMMOs recommendation to hit vertical surfaces which can be a little tricky with the Lowe-Cornell.

Also, you're right - the size the of the GC is intimidating as soon as you start any kind of detailing...
