Snap-in adapter for new iPhones
Does anyone have experience of snap-in adapters post iPhone 7? Thinking of finally upgrading from my trusted old 7 to iPhone SE, but nobody at BMW (at least in Australia) appears to know if there is a snap in adapter version that is compatible with it?

Would either of the "universal" snap-in or the "wireless" charging snap-in units work in this scenario?

I was thinking of going with the wireless tray as it is designed to fit almost every phone for my iPhone 11 Pro but haven't quite got around to ordering it yet. The SE has wireless charging as well of course and as your car is of the same tech generation as mine you'll have wireless Carplay so I don't really see a reason to plug it in?
I went from a 6S (which is very similar to your 7 really) to the 11 Pro and I'm really enjoying the bigger screen which the SE doesn't have and the size difference isn't really noticeable. The 6/6S/7/8/SE are all the same basic chassis so I'd expect that if it works with your 7 it should work with a new SE. The dimensions are slightly different but if you have a case on your phone it'll make more of a difference anyway. SE: 138.4 x 67.3 x 7.3 mm 7: 138.3 x 67.1 x 7.1 mm 11P: 144 x 71.4 x 8.1 mm

I’m sure there’s probably a video on YouTube that shows how it works or how to install it, too.

Thanks guys, I think the wireless tray is the option to go for. I really only occasionally use the snap-in adapter for charging, but I’ve noticed that not all functionality is supported wirelessly. Then again, if I haven’t used any of those during the first 2 years of ownership, unlikely I would miss them in the future...

Interesting...and informative. But I do notice that my armrest stays slightly cooled when the AC is running. I'm not sure if that is by design or if it is an unintended benefit due to the 4 zone climate option which brings cooled air to the rear vent at the end of the center console.
Has anyone else noticed that the center armrest bin stays sort of cool when the AC is running?
