Angry You had ONE job!

I say this all the time when someone screws up. You had ONE job.

I'm sure there are many more that will come to mind but I'll start with these.

I bought a Weber Grill from Home Depot. They delivered it assembled. There was clear plastic film all over the grill that said "Remove before assembly"

I went to the ATM just now to get cash. The new thing is you can request denominations. I requested $400 in $20 bills. Instead of getting 20 $20 bills, you know what I got? 20 $5 bills and the receipt showed I withdrew $400.
The bank was great. They fixed it immediately. They said they told the company that stocks the machine they put $20s in the $5 canister and $5s in the $20 canister last week. The company came down and said they didn't, but they did.

The guy that installed the exhaust fan over my stove in my old house installed it so it blew INTO the kitchen instead of out to the duct.

So let's hear some of your You had ONE job epic fail experiences.

I always thought ATM's scanned the actual bill so it couldn't discharge the wrong currency.

I'd like to say that to Amazon sometimes. Their one job is to ship me a new item of whatever I buy. More than once or twice I've received something that someone else sent back to them. One time it was a set of bike pedals that were dirty and greasy. I was pissed.

And don't get me started on takeout food orders that you find out once you get home they screwed up.

I was just about to say, YOUR one job is to go straight back to that ATM and pull out $400 in $5s!

OK so mine is the F'ing local USPS office and our mailman. Your ONE JOB is to match up the address on the letter with the address on my house and drop the mail in the slot. That's it. We have a mail slot on the side of our house that drops into a chute and a basket in the garage. At least 2x a week the mail is shoved into the slot and just stuck there, 1/2 in and 1/2 hanging out. Sometimes falling to the driveway. They seem to deliver junk mail with ninja like precision and accuracy while bills and other important mail simply evaporate into the ether. I finally signed up for USPS Informed Delivery which sends me a daily e-mail with photos of every piece of mail that's being delivered. That way when important bills go missing I at least have a record of it and can try to chase it down. Twice now I've had to call the WA State Department of Licensing to explain that I can see they sent me something but whatever was in the letter never arrived and can they please look at my account and try to figure out if it was a bill, a notice, or what. ONE JOB! Match the address on the envelope with the address on the house. Thats it!

Take out food pick up or delivery has been HORRIBLE this year. We usually order in once a week and I would say every other week something is wrong, but I'm too lazy (comfortable) to put pants on to go out

Maybe not you had one job related, but the other day I get a call at like 4am. I always have my phone on silent so normally I wouldn’t notice. However I was slightly awake at that time so I hear it buzzing. Caller ID seems to have the name of the community I live in. Fuck it I ignore it. Immediately starts buzzing again, I manually hang up, AGAIN! At this point I’m thinking something is going on so I answer it. All the person says is something along the lines of Amazon delivery…. wtf…. I’m half asleep and cannot process this. It’s fucking 4am. I know the community gate is closed and I’m pretty sure it’s not manned at 4am so it can’t be them calling and why in the world would I have a delivery at 4am. I hangup and they keep calling so I block the number.

After I wake up and start thinking about it I realize it was probably being made from the callbox at the community gate which is only open when gate is not manned. So I’m thinking maybe someone is trying to get into the community and just calling random houses? However later my gf says she was expecting a package and the app showed it was delivered around 4am and the picture they provide showed it was delivered to the wrong house.

So is Amazon delivering shit at fucking 4am now? That’s going to be an issue around here with all the gated communities.

Replace the existing A/C unit on the existing roof pad.

Yet, SOMEHOW, there is water in my server room, dripping from the lights. Go above that false ceiling, and water is dripping down the joists, from . . . the A/C unit.

LUCKILY, there are no light fixtures over the server rack.

I could name many, but I'll just mention those yard maintenance "mow and blow" weenies.

Their "one job?" Blow the leaves and grass clippings into the street and then down the street, leaving the mess for someone else to deal with.

Or that time when I switched out my winter square set up for my staggered summer set up. My tire guy put the 315s on the front and the 275s on the rear....
I did catch as soon as I walked out to the car.

Everybody should have USPS Informed Delivery because, as mentioned above, it gives you pics of the mail coming that day. Very worthwhile because the mail service screws up regularly and sometimes it is important mail and it's delivered to the wrong address and not everybody does the right thing when they get someone else's mail. Like walk it next door to give it to the addressee, or put it back in your mailbox and write "delivered to the wrong address" or something like that.

I have a mailbox on the street and they are constantly trying to shove packages in there that are too big to fit, and then they force them to fit and I can barely get it out, and all the other mail in my mailbox is squished and mangled. Why not just walk up to my door and drop it off? No, that's too much trouble.

They have overnight deliveries now. Certain products I can order at like 7pm, and I get them super early the next day.... so more or less in less than 24 hours.

Fun thread Now...how do I start?

I'm kinda stretching, but here goes:

I use the exercise bike in our condo's gym and every.single.time I have to adjust the seat height, but that's fine. What's NOT fine is that the person keeps unscrewing the round attachment completely off and putting it on the ground when all you have to do is just pull it out slightly (it's spring-loaded) and adjust the seat level.

Some friends bought a microwave and were complaining to me about the control panel being "defective" because they said it appeared to be "worn out" after just a few uses, being all scratched up, etc. I pretty much knew what that was all about but gingerly asked them if they removed the plastic protective film already...they insist what? Nothing's there, it's part of the actual panel, etc. Ok, whatevs. They finally had enough of the 'damaged panel' and exchanged it for another brand/model. Guess what, SAME thing happened and I repeat my question. They FINALLY got the hint. Man LOL smh.

They said they shut it down until Brinks came to check it out and said it was all good. Then they re-opened it. Funny thing is, I was waiting in the lobby for them to let me in the branch ( it was closed, only the drive through was open) and a guy came in - I thought he wanted to use the ATM- so I warned him something was wrong. He gave me an attitude. I then realized he was from Brinks and servicing the ATM. I guess he’s the one that fucked up.

The nerve of that guy! You're lucky you were near their opening hours, it would've been a pita to argue that you were 'scammed' instead of you trying to pull a fast one on the bank.

That reminds me of one time I was entering a hotel lobby and right near the entrance there was this tree/branch/ornament thing and one of the freaking pointy branches was at EYE-LEVEL(!)! So I immediately told a nearby staff and she gave me the stink-eye, no other reaction, no TY, nothing....she probably designed that stupid lawsuit-waiting-to-happen! Some ppl are just so annoying, how can anyone not see that was gonna be a big prb?
