tint and factory dots
had windows tinted yesterday by a very reputable place here in town. when i picked it up all looked good except around the back edges of side doors and around rear. he told me that with the factory dot patterns that are on the windows there is no way to get the tint to lay completly flat and stick above the factory dots on the windows . does this sound right ?

I had the same issue. Well two issues actually; not laying properly into the dot matrix in the rear window (side seem ok) and blurred headlights from following cars in the rear window at night because of the way the tint lays over the demister bars. He said the blurring would get better but it hasn't so it's gone back today for him to have another go. He reckons a bit of heat and pressing hard will help the the tint stick closer around the demister bars which will reduce blurred vision and into the dot matrix. I have heard some places sand that dot matrix down a little to help the tint lay into it or even use glue

Above are the 2 correct ways to do it: sand down the dots or place black vynil on the dot area. I prefer sanding.
