650I W/ competition m5/m6 mufflers vs non competition sound comparison

Is it worth waiting and spending the extra money on the competition mufflers vs getting the regular m5/m6 mufflers when doing quad exhaust conversion.... are they that much better sounding ?

i thought the only difference was black gloss tips, no?

i have the competition mufflers and do love them, but had to get larger tips. the standard tips are not necessarily too small, but particulary too far apart so it looks weird in my opinion

not really sure.. can't see why anyone would pay extra for a competition Muffler just for black tips and still end up buying bigger tips to fill the quad opening....

Personally, the competition was locally available for basically the same price as standard...just in case they are different

There is a sound difference I believe. The cp mufflers have less packing

Everything I've heard and read suggest the CP mufflers are indeed more aggressive sounding than non CP. For that reason, the CP mufflers are more sought after, and therefore harder to find on the used market. The ones that are out there typically sell for well over $1000 while you can get non CP for $500-$700
