Installed the Pedal Tuner from Burger Motorsports. Set it to medium and am quite pleased with it. Throttle lag is virtually gone and response is better. Has made this beast fun to drive in Comfort mode.

As the weather has turned up here in Scotland, it was time to get a set of winter tyres on the car. I opted for Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 on a set of OEM Cross Spoke 312 style alloys in Ferric Grey.
As others have highlighted, the difference between the original summer set up (703M alloys with Dunlop Sport Maxx RT2 run flats) is night and day compared to non RFT's. You can still feel the bumps and potholes, but they are not spine crushing and don't make you think you've just snapped your suspension each time you hit one. |

Installed the Maxton design lip, and re-badged it using gloss black painted emblems ($15 on ebay). Last things to do appearance-wise are some 3D Design style side skirts, and powder coat the brake calipers the M dark blue color. When I bought the car this summer I said I was keeping it stock....oops

Had been trying to decide how to tie the rear in with the current theme without being too much an gaudy. So I opted for a broken 3 stripes design. I think it is a good look an happy with the way it turned out.

Is the roof wrapped in glossy black at the white GC? Or is it painted?
And is this the front splitter? It looks really nice...! https://www.maxtondesign.co.uk/body-kits/bmw/bmw-6-series/bm-6-series-f06-f12-f13-m-sport/front-splitter-bmw-6-gran-coupé-mpack |

Just started customizing the Gran Coupe..fitted some 22inch Asanti Black Labels with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres...fronts 255, rears 295mm. Also installed a carbon fibre rear spoiler, Burgersports Cold Air intake (uninstalled of my BMW X6) and M Sport pedals.
Work in progress. Next is a high flow cat and tune...Anyone done the JB4 upgrade? Happy? cheers 2D |

OMG...e38 MPars (18" style 37) wheels actually fit the f06
Well...this post about mounting 18" wheels is going to be the antithesis of most things posted in this thread where the topic is usually about going bigger.
I've been on the lookout for 18", 19", or even 20" oe wheels to mount with dedicated winter tires...and I've been unsuccesful in finding something within a few hours driving distance. Almost had some 20" Style 356 wheels (w/tires & TPMS) about 3 hours away...but that deal fell through. Everything else I found that I liked (style 367, 366, 281, 331, 351) where either too far away...or cost more than what they looked like they were worth...or came with tires (that I didn't want/need) which pushed the cost higher than I wanted. So now that I'v'e made it into meteorological winter unscathed and actual winter is here (12/21/18)...my hand was forced to look at what I had on hand...an old staggered set of 18" Style 37 MPars that have been stored out in my shed since 2012. The major problem I knew from the start is the offset difference. The specs for these e38 MPars are:
After calculating narrower tires for both the front and rear that would fit the wheel's width as well as fall within overall circumference specs for the f06...and find out if there was an actual tire sold in that size (I prefer Michelin X-Ice or Bridgestone Blizzaks)...all that was left was finding out if the wheels would actually fit. To my surprise...the 18" MPars actually fit over the brake calipers (front & rear) and don't hit any suspension parts and also don't hang out past the fenders. I'm actually surprised...so now I just gotta order the tires and TPMS sensors...and the old girl will have her own set of dedicated winter tires. Again, sorry that this isn't about mounting some sick wheels...this is more about function over beauty...and if anyone has some spare wheels that have a lower wheel offset that they thought wouldn't fit...they just might have a second use. For those that aren't familiar with the old style 37 MPars...they were kind of popular back in the day (90s). They were designed for the e31 8 series, e39 5 series, and e38 7 series...but their popularity saw them mounted on e32s, e34s, e36s, e46s, e53 X5s, and I've even seen them on an e63 6 series.

I had my M5 wheels refinished after some asshat in a big truck swung wide on a turn and ran my wife into the curb grinding the 2 right wheels. I asked for a slightly darker silver and ended up with gunmetal grey. At first I didn't care for it, but now the car is all cleaned up and tires dressed I really do like it. But they lost the little ///M stickers on the wheels, I did order new ones on eBay, but they won't be here for 2 months as they're on a slow boat from China.
