New 650 Owner Looking For Wheel Guidance

so i just purchased a new to me 2013 bmw 650 i gran coupe and i'm in the market for some new wheels and tires.

the wheels i'm looking at are 20x9 in the front and 20x10 in the rear with a +20 offset.

the tires i'd like to use are 245/40 and 275/35. i'm looking to add a little meat on the sidewall.

the car is not lowered though i might in the future.

will i have any issues with this set up?

thanks and i'm looking forward to posting up pics soon!

Congrats. I can tell you right off the bat, a 20x10 rear with a +20 offset will stick out beyond the fender. The most aggressive offset you'd wanna go on a 10" rear would be about +32. That would make you 25mm more aggressive than stock.

thanks for the reply. i guess i'll find something a little less aggressive. i can get the same wheel at +35 all around which will be a lot safer.

so i just got off the phone with bavarian autosport and according to them i should have no issues with the wheels. apparently, they don't poke out past the fender at all.

now i'm torn! i've attached links just in case.

If you do some searches here, you'll see what guys are running. You can also use a wheel calculator to help. I've attached a pic of my car in which I'm running 20x10 +37. I probably could have gone 5mm more aggressive

looking at your rear wheels, it seems like +20 would stick out past the fender.

Are those original BMW M6 (M433) wheels thus 10.5 / ET 19 on the rear axle on 650i? If affirmative, were any modifications necessary?

Good luck with that. As you mentioned in post #6, a +20 will have your wheels sticking out past the fender. And then post #8 shows some wheels sticking out beyond the fender, stating yours would stick out even +2mm more. I'm not sure why you want your wheels sticking out but to each their own. It'll look nasty alright...LOL. Hopefully Bavauto has a return policy just in case you're not happy.

i actually agree. i decided to go the safe route after i thought it through a little more. i like my wheels flush but once i went out with a tape measure and really saw what they would look like, i changed my mind. i found some other wheels which are 20x9 +30 up front and 20x10.5 +35 in the rear. these will fit much better.

Now that set up will be nicely flush!

Definitely a good choice on trying to stay flush as possible. I believe perfect fitment lies within that range. The set of forged wheels I run is
BC Forged HC-S03 bolt pattern 5x120
- Front 20x9 ET25 Medium Concave
- Rear 20x10.5 ET38 Deep Concave

And I am very please either the results. I run the 245/35/20 in the front and 285/30/20 in the rear lowered on H&R and I have 0 fitment issues!

If anyone is interested in a set of used 20" Alpina rims & tires let me know. I'm parting out an entire 2013 650i X-Drive Gran Coupe. Will be making a thread soon. Located on Long Island, NY.
