I'm looking at potentially buying a 17 registered 640d - looking at pics I think it still has ID5, and no CarPlay.

Is it possible to code both?

id5 can be coded to id6 yes.

I have a 17 f06 640 and I coded mine to id6. You have the option to unlock apple Carplay from connect drive website. But there are fsc codes out there for cheaper than what BMW charges to unlock Carplay...
