Oil filter choices

Hi,

I am wondering if I should be buying a WIX, Mann or Mahle oil filter for my 2015 650xi GC. Are there any differences between them?

Thanks

As long as you change the oil filter with the oil change, it doesn't matter what filter you use.

If you buy a BMW one at the dealer for a 650, it will be stamped Mahle. If you buy a Mahle elsewhere, it will be cheaper. But I agree, it does not matter unless you use a brand like Big Bubba's Filters.

Mann and Mahle are the best choices

Would you not just use a bmw filter, it must be the cheapest oem.part on a 100k car.

When I was a golf gti person I sued to buy 4 oem from dealer, and change oil every 5k miles

Because typically the BMW filter will be twice the price for the exact thing - not the equivalent - the exact thing. Open the BMW box and it says Mahle inside. Now if you need to pay shipping that's a different story.

BMW and Mahle are identical. I think it's a given though that the original filter would be a good option.
