I am unnaturally obsessed with BMW and have forgiven them a great many things, but whoever decided that the F06, the most beautiful modern era BMW and biggest seller of the 6-Series family, should be replaced with this should be fired and sued/indicted for crimes against humanity.

Get rid of that stupid "spoiler" because who the hell is a the driver of one of these fooling?
Fix the name because it's actually an affront to the brilliant work the designers of the F06/12/13 did and it has the interior of the 5-Series either way.
Scrap that disgusting M-Sport body kit option which I already know all UK cars will be sold in

Call me overly dramatic but I was having a great day and then I had to look at this before sleeping

How is it possible to lose so much from concept car to production version. BMWs concepts have been stunning, yet we get this crap, the most bland, boring, hideous production cars, i.e. 3er, 5er, 7er and now this?

Even Lexus manages to keep the concept very close to production. Quit teasing us with concept cars that don't use any of their design in the production cars. It's such a let down and makes the actual production car even more horrible.

This^. WTAF? I'm in marketing and know that there's always a cost / benefit analysis for any new product. How many of these will they sell? I've seen exactly two 5 GTs and one was in the dealer showroom.

They tried and tried...and still ugly.

The headlight shape (resembling the X5 and X6) tells me that this model has been like 2-3 years in the making, it has some old BMW design features. They probably went back and forth with cancelling it and then releasing it

What's wrong with 5-series wagon ?

So much waste of R&D money...

I assume they sell well in China or someplace that rationalizes their existence. I have only see a handful of 3 and 5 GT's here in the Bay Area, and BMW's are a dime a dozen here. In my travels to Europe, they seem similarly scarce there as well.

I'm sorry but I don't believe for a second that BMW sold enough 5GTs to warrant another one.. To kill the 6GC for this makes 0 sense to me..

Everyone complaining about the number 6: this has nothing to do with the current 6s. Right now is a moment of transition. A year from now, the current 6 will become 8, and there will no longer be any confusion.

Also, this thread needs Scott, to enlighten everyone why this is a good thing, and G31 is not.

So they're bringing this car to the US but not the M140 xi? I was told because of the American preference for SUVs rather than sporty hot hatches. Just don't see the logic.
