2013 640d brake warning
So I replaced the discs and pads front and back on my car in March, there is tons of meat left on all but the brake wear warning on iDrive has come on and won't go off. I've looked and the pads are 100% NOT worn.
Any advice? I tried resetting the warning using the button on the dash but reset is unsuccessful. |

When you replaced them in March did you reset it then? There are two warnings and it's not clear which you are referring to. IDrive has a totally "dumb" maintenance warning system that tells you that you are due for pads. It has no idea if you really need pads because all it's monitoring is time/miles. But your pads also have a wear sensor that will trigger when your pads are actually thin. Which warning are you getting?

Can you post a pic of the actual warning? There are several brake warnings so a pic would help pin point your issue.

Sorry for the delay, here is the warning message and the service status of the brakes.

When you (unsuccessfully) tried to reset the indicator, did you know you have to have the handbrake / parking brake OFF. If it’s ON the indicator won’t reset. Also I found on a previous 5 series (F10) that, despite the brake sensor not “triggering,” it needed a new sensor fitted before it would play ball.

My guess is the wear sensor being triggered, assuming you didn't change them out.

Also make sure your door is closed. Some of the service resets require all the doors to be closed when using the instrument cluster procedure.

To me that does not look like the message for a sensor being triggered, but just the dumb maintenance tracker telling you that your time/miles has passed. I think you just need to do the reset.
