CLS 63 only because it's more unique of the 3 and it sounds much better than the M6.

M6GC > M5

Only advantage the M5 has over this is the heritage IMO.

M6GC has a better stance and sportier look. Now I can't wait to see the M4GC - that will be epic!

Lightly used Gallardo price territory.... eek.

But then again they serve two very different purposes.

I can never understand why people complain about a car's weight. I mean..if you dont like the weight of a particular car, buy one that's within your weight range.

And if you dont like a particular car, buy the one you like that you think makes sense.

I have been seeing a white 6GC M-sport running around the queens/li area and that thing looks very nice. I would get the regular body style however because i love the sleek look.

The "larger" appearance/stance of the M6 GC, is mostly an optical illusion stemming from its different proportions (i.e. its exaggeratedly-lower greenhouse relative to its side flanks).

The 650i GC's wheelbase is 116.9" vs 116.7" for the M5.

650 GC total length is 197.2" vs 193.5" for the M5.

Front overhang (starting from the front wheel centerline) for the 650 GC is 37.0" vs 32.9" for the M5.

Rear overhang (starting from the rear wheel centerline) for the 650 GC is 43.3" vs 43.7" for the M5.

Therefore, M6 GC is 3.7" longer than M5, with a 4.1" bigger front overhang (in large measure attributable to having a slightly longer and more drooping front hood/bonnet).

Each to their own, I personally like it and the car is a beast for sure but the emblem on the drill is a retro tribute to the original M models, they were always on the cars up until the late E-codes.

With the influx of M-Sport and M Performance models the grill badge is a way of showing that the car is a full on M, it lets people know what's in their rear view just before they are passed.

I have felt that some differentiation is needed up front and this does that well, its small and looks classy.

I LOVE the double bubble!

But than the 6GC is heavier and only seats 4 while the M5 seats 5.

And it also costs $30k more hmmm

I disagree. M6 has a sportier look, but that doesn't help it have a better stance. I find 6GC and M6GC to be disproportionately looking (headlights, rear, height) for its shape and dimensions and, unlike M5, that car is going to struggle to find its place for a long time and intentionally exclusive +20 HP, added luxuriousness and a design too gentle for an ///M car did little to change that. On the other hand, M5 maintains the advantages of price, being practical and a car you can go to a high-profile business meeting too and for some people a simply put "better design".

It's not only about the heritage of M5, but about the purpose of M6GC - which was to bite off chunks of sales from CLS and A7. M5 looks much better to me, more proportionate and has a solid place in automobile world and mind of consumers. Even when I had M6 (E63) the road presence of an M5 always screamed "damn, there's an M5" here."

E39 still looks very proportional and clear in spite of being an almost 20 year old car, I find F10 to have the same 'not aging' design and one of the best looking (long term) designs BMW ever made, especially considering its target market and heritage.

To me, M6GC resembles an adult man who wears clothes much younger than of his age. Assembling better looking parts together doesn't make a car better looking.

It's not that big, I've seen it at the Paris Auto Show (the GC, not the M6 GC), I was surprise it wasn't as big as in the pictures and videos. I think it's as big as the F10 M5.

In comparison, the M6 seemed smaller than the M5 on the stand.

Unfortunately not. I have seen it in person and it's very large, but also very beautiful. I think that the great engine is a waste with all this weight.

I hope that the M4 Gran Coupe will be what this car cannot, while retaining 90% of the beauty of the M6GC.

I was going to disagree with guys who were dissing the Gran coupe to be too long but its almost 3 inches shorter in length then a 7series.

Anyway, if there was no demand for big heavy powerful sedans, we wouldn't have them. But if this car is heavy, what about the trucks like X5m, ml63, Cayenne turbo
