Did Top Gear crash one already? We can now refer to it as the Top Gear stig spoiler!

Spoiler looks hideous. Looks like a cheap aftermarket part that doesn't fit properly.

I really don't understand how something like this can happen after all the testing they are supposed to do before a car is presented to the public. Apparently the third brake light is not the only area where BMW is doing some cost cutting...

The fact that the new M6 is so overpriced makes the whole thing even worse.

Reminds me of when Audi retrofitted a rear spoiler on the TT due to high speed stability issues.

Not what you'd expect from M. Period!

Having a spoiler in M6 is similar story as with M5 or 1M or M3, they all have these lip spoilers and later BMW will also offer a carbon fibre version spoilers that will cost a lot, this is marketing process in order to make profits.

It looks definitely better WITH the spoiler. Now I like it.

The car looks better without the spoiler. It looks hideous.

I wonder if BMW came across some problematic condition that required this spoiler to be added?
Exactly what I was thinking.

Looks pretty crappy IMO. Looks like a complete after thought, i.e. a bandaid solution.

It's a moot point since it's way out of my price range anyway!

True, except Quattro was never a requirement and still to this day you can buy either front or Quattro on the TT.

Same way 335i Turbos, and HPFPs were "tested thoroughly" I have had 2 sets of Turbos and 4 different HPFPs, in my car and its only 33K miles on it. The issues are now solved, but the first 3yrs were hell for the 335s. As you can see, BMW learns faaast.

how much do these small trunk spoilers actually help with aerodynamics, stability and performance?

Weird how some fans don't like the spoiler. That spoiler added so much charisma and performance.

Man that sucks! I know how you feel though, I had a 2008 E92 335xi and I got rid of it 11 months after buying it new, even though it didn't have a single HPFP failure. The reasons why I got rid of it so soon were still related to poor quality though.

well, hard to believe that they at some point found out they needed a rear spoiler...

i dont like the rear bumper on the M6 anyway and the spoiler doesnt make the rear overall look any better.

Have to see it in person though.

I also wish the would offer some carbon parts !?
