BMW M6 Gran Coupe Opens Ring Test Season
BIMMERPOST NEWS BMW M6 Gran Coupe Opens Ring Test Season The Nurburgring testing season has just opened and the first BMW prototype model that we've spied is the upcoming M6 Gran Coupe, due to become the upcoming flagship M model upon its release next year. The M6 and 6 Series Gran Coupe represents BMW's first foray into the luxury "coupe" sedan niche and just as the standard 6 series Gran Coupe will compete with the Mercedes CLS lineup, the top of the line M6 variant will take on the Mercedes CLS63 AMG directly. If these photos of the M6 GC being pushed extremely hard on the Ring are any indication, the CLS63 AMG will soon have a fast and great handling nemesis to contend with. The remaining camouflaged portions of the M6 GC do not conceal much as one only needs to look to the recently revealed 2013 M6 coupe and convertible for the styling. It will wears the same front and rear design as the M6 Coupe, as well as the sporty carbon fiber roof from the M6 coupe. Like the M6 coupe, the M6 Gran Coupe will feature the potent S63Tu 4.4L twin turbo V8 motor. We're hoping to some more power extracted from this engine for the M6 Gran Coupe, which would give it the most power of any M model; fitting of a flagship M model. The M6 Gran Coupe's premiere should come in the second half of this year (in the Fall) we believe. Follow our M6 Gran Coupe, coupe, and convertible coverage @ http://www.bimmerpost.com/m6/ |

the flagship M should always be the M3

thats why they should make the M3 light and powerful.. because it has to beat those.. since it won't have as much power then it should be very light.. hopefully..

I agree. I think it would've been the appropriate to call it the flagship her but I guess now, it's bigger the better...the flagship.

Anyone know if it will be offered with a 6-spd manual for the US since the M6 and M5 will be?

Ah, OK, it was BMWBlog IIRC that reported that the M6 will be offered in a manual for the US market, but I guess at this stage it is just speculation. Would be cool if it is though.

It s not body roll what you see in the pics, it s just the surface that has a ceratin angle in that area!
It s also pushed hard due to the vact that top panamera versions are very capable too. Can t wait for the first comparos |

That really wouldn't follow the definition of "flagship" then. The flagship is usually the largest, most elegant ship in the fleet.
