Here are some photos and a first live look and listen at the F13 M6 Coupe MotoGP Safety Car from the MotoGP race at the Assen circuit in the Netherlands. The M6 joins the M5 and 1M Safety Cars as an official Safety Car for this years MotoGP race series. It's set to replace the 1M Safety Car halfway through the season, which is coming up shortly.

The F13 M6 Safety Car is equipped with an Akrapovic exhaust system, front spoiler with integrated LED lights, M Performance black kidney grilles, side gills, and mirrors, and a high rear spoiler wing. For stopping power, the M6 safety car is equipped with the factory M carbon ceramic brakes.

Shame to ruin the lines of that great CF roof with that bulky light bar. Couldn't they have found one with a lower profile by now?

To me the overall look with M paint stripes and light bar is suggestive of a surrealistic police cruiser.

To me that wing just looks dumb and doesn't fit the car. Looks out of place on the M3 as well

Here I now can afford these cars and aside from the money which is expensive but for me neglibile, is the fact they simply do not give me any sense of really really wanting the car. Definetly hanging onto my m3 for life and in a year its sadly going to be stepping out of bmw and into a new 991S.

If you were going to spend that money on a HUGE coupe, why not go for an Aston? At that price point of 140's for a car, you are looking at people who probably could easily afford 240k as well so choosing the m6 does not make much sense. The aston is twice as beautiful and sleek, has a beautiful engine note and is spectacular legendary car.
Can you teach me how to be rich like you?

I don't agree that people that could afford a $140k car necessarily could easily afford a $240k car. I'm one of them!

I totally agree... that was a dumb post.

Everyone has a limit...and the problem in America is that some people don't know their limit.

If you can afford $500 a month for a car, you can surely afford $600 as well, as it is only a $100 difference per month, thats only $25 a week. skip a lunch once a week and you can afford it.

But hey....if you can afford $600 a month, you can also afford $700 a month.
If you can afford $700 a month, you can afford $800 a month too.

If you can afford $800 a month, you can surely afford $900 a month..
and it just goes on forever like that. So wheres the limit?

Mortgage the wife, eBay the kids, and you are up to $1500/mo. After you're done selling a couple of not-so-vital organs, you might be up to $2000/mo. If you drop your home and live in the car, you could possibly even get a Lamborghini or Rolls Royce, and "that there" is the absolute limit!

We sold the first on of these exhaust systems in the US; can't wait to hear it!

There will be pre-sale thread up for this system soon as well.

+1

I'm shopping around for 991S though and waiting for 991-4S announce at Frankfurt auto show to finalize my plan. I'm though interested in M6 just so my 11 and 8 yrs old kids can comfortably sit in the Bach vs uncomfortable road trips on 991.. I'm really torn now...again I'm not going to even think about spending anything north of $135K....but man, BMW's resale drops like a rock and 991S drive is just so sublime and addictive...I'm so puzzled!

You're right. It's moronic for anyone to say that. Of course, being able to afford it and finding it a wise value proposition are two different things too. Rich people tend to stay rich by NOT doing stupid things that imperil their financial plans. It's far from a $100K deal too. I confess to be weighing the new SL550 vs the new Sixer. I saw an SL63 at the dealership. Better car? Yep, but not $40K more in IMHO.
