It would be hard not to!
I never got good on a board, but could body surf in a hurricane!
Surfing is to body surfing as biking is to jogging. The latter are a little more primal.

"Oscar Peterson was one of the greatest piano players of all time. A pianist with phenomenal technique on the level of his idol, Art Tatum, Peterson's speed, dexterity, and ability to swing at any tempo were amazing. Very effective in small groups, jam sessions, and in accompanying singers, O.P. was at his absolute best when performing unaccompanied solos."

Does anyone remember or know this funky group out of Germany? I used to dig them when I was young. They were ahead of their time.

Not really a jazz fan, but I can appreciate a good musician when I hear them and that is a very good piano player.

I like the trumpet playing as well. I played trumpet in Jr. high school and got pretty good at it. Became the 1st trumpet at my school. Played for a couple of years until someone broke into my school locker and stole my trumpet.

Loved this song when I was a kid playing trumpet. Remember it? Thought Al Hirt was the best back then. Remember the Green Hornet TV series? I don't think it ran for more than a season or two. And Bruce Lee as Kato?

A trumpet player who doesn't like jazz.

Jazz can put your head in a nice place. But some of it can drive you up a wall!

Acker Bilk and his band was the leading jazz musician over here once, sometimes he wore a bowler hat as he played.

When I was a kid and played trumpet I liked all kinds of trumpet music, including jazz, but that was decades ago. My tastes have changed since then and I don't really like it anymore. Also used to like marching band music because of my trumpet playing. Don't like that anymore either.

PS - can still appreciate a good trumpet when I hear it, though.

Thanks Rick,

That was good. Didn't know of him, but I'll look into Mr. Acker Bilk on Allmusic.com

"To the jazz world, though, he has a longer-running track record as one of the biggest stars of Britain's trad jazz boom, playing in a distinctive early New Orleans manner."
