Racing Seats

Anyone bold enough to have swapped out their stock seats with aftermarket fixed back racing seats?

I'm a fairly thin and tall person at 165lb and 5ft 11in and I just can't get passed the lack of support these M6 seats actually give. I've driven quite a few sports cars and hands down, although comfortable, these M6 seats just aren't doing it for me. I daily drive my M6 (100ish miles) to and from work, groceries, shopping etc. Has anyone ever contemplated doing this before?

I had my local shop EuroPower Houston make a custom bracket to fit my Mclaren 600LT's driver seat in my M6 for track days. It is possible but depends on how much you actually want to spend to get it done. You will need to purchase an extra seat belt as well, I got mine off eBay for $43 shipped and had it rigged to work and pass track inspection. I've been tracking the M6 less and the Mclaren more so I might not need the seat bracket anymore.

Here is the post that inspired me to give it a shot.

This is exactly what I've been looking for, thanks for sending the link as well.
Would you mind explaining how you mounted your seatbelts, I'm stumped to be honest? I also swapped my seats in my GT3RS with a beautiful carbon and alcantara momo racing seat but the stock roll cage made attachment way easier. Im sending you a pm regarding the bracket.

I asked the shop that did mine for me, they stated they purchased the bracket from IND and then simply made a bracket to fit my 600LT seat. He made it seem like it's a pretty simple job lol.

Yeah, IND should have the brackets. Also need to code out seat sensor for airbags

The belts needs to be attached to a harness bar or some anchor. You may be able to use the anchors on the rear dash which was intended for child seats. You might be able to also anchor it to the LATCH hooks in the rear seat.
