Doug DeMuro made an M6 video

Nice 6MT car, shame it isn't a comp though or have full leather but ohh well - this might raise some interest in our cars.

I'm in San Diego and was going to offer up my 2014 M6 GC, comp package, for review, lol. Looks like someone beat me to it.

Ah I see thanks.

Not that it matters too much, but I think the M6 GC would've had the highest DougScore against those cars he compared in the list, with a couple extra points for styling and practicality.

I dont know, I think the Coupe looks sexy. The wheels though, I didn't even know M6's came with 19" wheels.

Doug has commented in several of his videos that he prefers the look of the GC over the Coupe so I imagine it would score higher in the styling section of the DougScore.

Those wheels make babies cry. This video showcases how a proper set of wheels can greatly help the aesthetics of a car.

To my eyes the GC is far better looking than the coupe, hence why I bought the GC. The addition of the 2 doors compliments the low, wide shape.

Agreed. It's actually too bad Doug picked this relatively plain looking example to review for his channel. Aside from those unattractive wheels, but my eyes were instantly drawn to the totally faded logo on the brake calipers. With all due respect, there are some stunning examples on this forum of folks in the SOCAL area, which would've been far more worthy to represent the M6 on Doug's channel IMHO.

I found it interesting that Doug didn’t understand why the center console has a lock but the glove box does not.

I guess he didn’t see the valet switch that locks out the trunk when he looked inside the center console.

Ha, I found it by accident one day.

One thing I'm curious about, for the pre-LCI owners out there, that Doug mentions in this review. Is M2 not configurable? I can configure M1 and M2 in my car and assumed that has always been the case, but Doug here said M1 is configurable and M2 is Sport Plus for all settings. Is that indeed the case?

The blinker signal is not an issue -- sad that he couldn't figure out to disengage the blinker all you had to do is tap in either same/different direction, as opposed to doing a full send in either direction. Plus it blinks three times with a soft touch, which is way more of a convenience than a "quirk". Sometimes I just feel he's looking for things that are semi-normal and adding emphasis, through his narrative, as if it were something absurd.

M1 & M2 are both configurable. Dougie probably missed this for any number of reasons (similar to missing the reason why the glove box and center arm rest lockable feature)...but the original owner of the car may have had M2 already programmed...thus Doug wouldn’t want to play around with it and change it.

For example, here’s a video of a 2013 M5 where instructions for programming for the M1 & M2 button is demonstrated:

You know, I've seen other reviewers have a problem with this as well. It's never bothered me and is rather simple to figure out, and I agree with you about Doug taking wholly mundane things and treating them as though they are life altering.

Appreciate the reply. I assumed they were both configurable, but wanted to confirm, having never been in a Pre-LCI car. Seems Doug could've figured that out without much extra work, but I guess it makes for a more compelling segment putting so much emphasis on M2 being the "balls out" mode.

Think he should of chosen a convertible to me the vert just has that extra edge especially since there’s not much that compares looks wise. They seem to be more desirable as time goes on too especially when looking at prices of the previous generation m6.

No need to get all butthurt that I pointed out a few things on the car I don't like. I don't need to sugar coat my opinions. Sorry, not sorry? It is what it is.

But honestly, congrats that Doug selected your car to review, that's pretty damn awesome regardless of all those cosmetic flaws at the end of the day.

3-4? I literally made 2 posts in this thread directed at the looks of the car in the review.
Passive aggressive? Dude, yea I don't like the wheels and the faded logos on the brake calipers. I don't need to beat around the bush about it.
It's not the end of the world, not sure why you're behaving like a sensitive teenager about it. No car's perfect and has some flaws, mine included. Move on.

I too commented on the wheels, but please don't take it to heart. You know the old opinions line..."opinions are like assholes...". We all can't like the same things. I'm sure there are some mods on my car others don't like. Some colors I picked that others don't like. I personally don't mind the wider perspective of other's opinions and it has caused some friendly banter as a result, but I do understand that some may not want to hear or read it. As you said, we buy what we like with our money, and ultimately, that's all that matters.

Saw this the other day.
Glad the 6 gets some shine and glad it was a coupé as the original 6 was a 2 door coupe

After this got a bit negative I'd just like to say that all F series M6s are beautiful cars and some people may have different preferences - I personally couldn't get a 6MT living in an RHD country but I knew I wanted Coupe + LCI + Comp Pack and while I would have preferred San Marino Blue or 5 other colours I ended up with Singapore Grey.

I still love my car, and I love the stock 19" wheels on this one too - in fact I'm looking for an F11 at the moment for the other half and I really want to run 344m wheels on it but they are one of the rarest wheels BMW have ever made as most M6 buyers went with 20" options.

I'm sure if @ep3 wanted he could afford to buy 343m or 601m wheels or possibly something aftermarket. Plus he's got a 6MT so....

Slightly different topic but I think it would have been interesting if Doug had reviewed an F06 and an F12 as well to talk about the differences, the same would apply to the F80/82/83 to see what the differences are between them all.
