I always find the psychology behind buying/selling interesting. GLWS!!
$136k sticker! And yes, I was reminded by a friend that there are probably a lot of people selling cars that are in a NEEED to sell basis. Thankfully, that's not me. I couldn't imagine offering someone $8k off a used car that's $40k. The $35k-37k offers don't bother me TOO much, I simply say this isn't a wholesale car. Everyone wants a deal and I get that. Part of the process

Was just talking to a friend last night who is looking for an M6 GC (his E39 M5 just got wrecked, RIP). I'll pass this along.

Sorry to hear about his E39. I have a couple parties I'm working with. Will keep this thread updated

i think the price is great -- i'm considering -- not sure if m6 GC or X5M

but i'm attaching Manheim results -- so considering the miles your $2k above wholesale --- with Manheim think there's a $500 fee plus whatever they put into car (fixing paint, new tires)

so i personally think your asking is very fair for condition and miles

GLWS

i'm debating

Thank you!

A cursory search on autotrader shows eight gran coupes under $40k.

Two are under $35k (one has 100k miles, one has accident damage).
The next five are over 60k miles, and/or with accident damage.
The last car is OPs!

I think it's very competitively priced and I think you're right that a dealership would expect to list this at $45k, hence the 37+ trade-in offer.

Anyway enough about the price, best of luck to OP, I'm sure you'll get what you're looking for
Exactly. Not every car is the same. A ton of Carfox trash out there for under $35

Great price for buyer and seller...win/win. Good job!

E90 was great, but it's almost a 15 year old platform. What will it be like to go backward on tech, power, performance, interior quality, interior space, etc?

Glorious! A car that I can drive hard and not be doing 160 MPH, with great sound, great steering, plenty of performance for the street and far better handling. Ever since I sold my E90, Ive been trying to find a car to replace it and have failed. Ive considered going to an F80 but they sound awful. We will see what happens once the M6 is gone.

Ultimately, a few months ago, I bought an 06 Wrangler Unlimited Rubicion and have built that to drive daily. I found myself driving more often than the M6 to enjoy that raw driving experience. The power game was fun and beating anything that approached me was also fun. But Im ready to build an E90 again.

We probably have similar tastes! I had a Wrangler about 20 years ago. So capable off-road stock. As fun off-road as a supercar is on the track. I loved my E92 and owned 2 of them. Hydraulic steering, RWD, 6-spd manual, 2 doors, 300-400hp, etc. One of the last great BMWs.

I own multiple 6 series, even a one-of-one 2012 650 6-spd manuals! But still waiting for my one-of-one M6, which exists but waiting for the buyer to finally sell it!

I like my rare ones as well. I'm undecided which route I'm going to go as far as color, DCT vs Manual, etc... I get pretty inpatient but the right one always seems to pop up at the right time. This will be my 7th car in 17 months and 34th since I was 16, I'm 34 now. The search is nothing new to me hahaha

My LJR is extremely rare in midnight blue pearl coat on dark khaki hardtop/soft top on tan cloth. I've rebuilt just about everything and it's so great to drive.

I can spam my own thread, right?!

I can take this question. OP and I both came from a E90 M3. The answer is simple. Adding power and adding weight is not optimal. Cars like the E90 M3 has a better balance despite the power deficit. I'm looking to get back into a E90 M3 or similar car again (3.8L 911).

Personally, I think any car generally under 3600 lbs and over 450 HP will be an optimal combo. Obviously there are going to be extreme examples, like 4,000 lb 600 HP cars or 300 HP 3000 lbs examples.

So for my 2nd time around to the E9x M3 ownership, I'll look for:

E92
CF Roof
6MT
speed cloth
no navigation
no EDC

I'll take a E90 too.

This was my old car. I should have never sold it.

When you find the right car, keep it this time. They simply will not make a car like that again. Heck, in 10 years they simply won't make any ICE cars at this rate!

I was thinking of selling my 2012 650 manual to get an M6 manual but I think I'm actually going to keep it along with my other 6 series and add the M6 if and when it becomes available. These are all unique vehicles and I actually appreciate them. I did consider getting another E92, which would have been my third, as a winter beater but it's too small and dated for me now. I guess I got spoiled by the 6!

Oops sorry. I wasn't aware that you also owned a E92 M3. So you know what I'm talking about. and plus it looks like you found more cars than I have in my lifetime.

Your 6MT 650 is sweet. I would only sell it to someone who is willing to pay a premium for it. I would even keep it and try to sell it back to EAS a few year down the line.

What would complete your collection would be a 2016 M6 Competition Edition car. I've also seen numerous 6MT 2014 Competition Package coupes
