Sold my Mazda MX-5 for a BMW

Hello,

My name is Sebastian and I am new to the forums!
In Septmber, I sold my 2008 Mazda MX-5 and bought a BMW M6 (F12).

She has about 3,500 miles now, and is just a beast of a car.
This is my first BMW so I am fairly excited to join this community, to read and discuss more about this model and other BMW makes.

I'm looking forward to conversing with fellow BMW enthusiasts.

Pictures of my BMW M6 are enclosed below:

And here are some pictures of the 2008 Mazda MX-5 that I sold to a good friend of mine.
One thing that I miss with on the MX-5, was the manual gearbox. The M6 is a DCT.

No joke... it is a substantial upgrade both in power and handling. I must say that MX-5 was more of a neutral handling car. I am still adjusting my driving style to the M6.

When I first test drove the M6 at a local dealer, I must say, I was very intimidated. The MX-5 didn't have alot of power but it handled nicely and was very forgiving.

I think next steps, next year, would be to go to the BMW Performance Center (M School) and learn how to properly operate this machine.

I went from a E90 M3 to the M6. Today is my first day driving it. I too am very intimated by it, the overall size, the way the speed creeps up on you, the cabin feel...everything is just different.

Very nice... Any regrets with the upgrade?

I had an E92 M3. How are you finding the difference in terms of getting the power down. It seems to to me that if you boot this car the backend will snap out in a heartbeat. The M3 seemed more forgiving in my experience. The M6 feels as if it'll quite happily kill me.

I also came from an E93 M3 and I found the M6 very large at first, with issues in tight spaces up front. I have owned 2 Miatas (not daily driver like my M6) and they are tiny.

Haha, let me put it this way...The car smells like rubber everytime I get out after a drive. And I was just driving in traffic.

It's your tires. I just tossed out useless 305/30/20 Pirelli's and put on 315/30/20 Nitto NT-01's, it's a night and day difference. The car actually hooks in 1st/2nd now with the JB4/BCM.

actually, dealer put on new PSS as it was a CPO. Smell subsided today, I think it was due to new tires.

Im not a fan of Pirellis. My M3 wore Michelin Pilot Super Sports and when the Pirelli#s are done I think I'll go with them again.

Just depends what you are going for, I needed straight line traction and I went from 295 to 305 and it made no difference, then went to the NT-01 R compound tires and so far my traction problems are gone. Don't forget a tuned S63TU is pure insanity compared to stock, somewhere around a 100-130whp difference.
