Easier to just call them Nissans. Or walk it all the way back to Datsun.

Plus their recent naming convention is truly stupid.

Well that's what you get when you misspell the word to make your auto company's name.

Dude - an S3 is a performance FWD car. Do some research the "Quattro" is some haldex FWD biased bullshit. Same kind of crap that Mercedes is putting in that CLA-bomination.

I'm salivating over that car. It looks great. But I would certainly test drive one to see if it had torque steer before I bought it. That might be a project this weekend.

Uh, and BMW is putting in the X1/X2 and most Minii.

Worth noting that Audi/VW has exclusive rights to the latest version of Haldex that puts "more than 10%" fixed to the rear and can transfer up to 90%. The older version that MB and BMW get has no power split until slip and can only send 60% back.

Focus RS or WRX I'd say. OR a new Alfa Giulia (they're great!). Don't buy anything boring. You should always commute in the best car possible.

S3? No real torque steer. The RS3 shows a little, but it's dialed out pretty quickly. The VAG version of Haldex is pretty nice.

I didn't feel any tq steer in the new S3 or RS3 I drove. RS3 was a blast. If only that dash was nicer & they had vented seats.

It's the cheap one, it's supposed to be kinda spartan. Not that I wouldn't break my 'no porkers' rule for an RS4 Avant.

A bitch of a commute (32 miles) at an average of 30 miles an hour. Should I spend my money on something else besides a car?

2015 Infinity q50 or q60: Seems like a lot of car for $20k. The past Infinity's and Nissan's I've owned have been very reliable.
I'd highly recommend a Q50. My friend bought one about six months back and its just an awesome car all the way round. From seating to power to practicality.

$60k+ is not the cheap one in my book LOL. With just about everything else having leather wrapped stuff, vented & heated seats, etc, Audi dropped the ball here IMO. RS3 doesn't even have power seats!

But it's the lowest class of Audi. So leave it simple and light, let the RS4 and above be the bigger, heavier, more complicated cars.

Just like an M5 should have more fluff than an M3, same goes for the Audi lineup. And I don't have power seats or auto climate and prefer things that way. Helps that my wife can't drive a manual.

Having owned a 135, I will argue that outside of the engine; that car has exactly 0 reedeming qualities.

1- it doesnt handle well due to the short chassis and no lsd
2- not much lighter than a 3
3- doesnt look good, proportions are off
4 - runflats and the suspension setup is awful

Mine was stock and later modded and neither were good outside the engine. The chassis is insanely easy to overpower.

The S3 is very solid... u may miss the Tq of the N54 but as a daily car in my honest opinion it is significantly better. It comes w magride, a much better stereo, is a little larger and handles real nicely for a fwd biased car.

I would love an S3, seems to be the closest match to my car out on the market. Sorry you didn't like your 1er as much as I love mine. I absolutely love my car!

RS cars are not the lowest class. S3 not having it, I can see. RS3 & up? That's a fail.

You start to realize how bad a 1 series is once you start driving remotely newer, more modern cars...

A3 is the lowest class. Doesn't matter how many letters you append to it, it's still the cheapest Audi. Leave it simple, some of us prefer that.
