couple people have pm'd asking which videos i watched and how to take the indicators out, below should help

the indicators just pop out, i used an old credit card and flat blade screw driver (carefully)

shameless stolen link to pic from another post below

http://www.6post.com/forums/attachme...1&d=1523205562

watched the below

struggled a little on the corners, so watched the below also

if i was to do again i would use a heat gun, the wifes hair dryer was a bit to windy and not hot enough , Indicators are very fiddly to try as a first time effort but a good learning curve.

thanks

Have you done the chrome on the door handles as well? I'm getting more and more tempted down this route.

had to redo one of these today, jetwash took a bit of material from the indicator. i hadnt quite got all of the air out of one of the corners, and the pressure punched through.

looking at more vids it seems more heat was the answer, however i got all the way throught the second attempt and then managed to melt the wrap

anyway 3rd time lucky and it came out perfect

heat gun is the way to go, mine landed yesterday and used it today. Tomorrow i will try and get the door handle chrome changed to carbon

I struggled wrapping the side grills (whatever they are called, just fake inserts on my LCI 640GC). There is a indention there that just didn't want to work with me and my amateur skills. I ended up pulling them and having them painted for $50 at a quality local shop - matched to the other black on the car.

In terms of the handle trim, I could not figure a way to remove the chrome strip and ended up just wrapping them (did the same on my 535i) and it took me two tries on a couple. They have been on 3 years on the 5 series without issue now and 6 months on the 640. Everything else was black already (window trim, grills) and that chrome bothered me. I would have preferred to just have them painted but only if i could remove them.
If anyone has success removing handle trim - let us know.
