2022-1 North America NEXT map

Thanks for the links...however when I try to update my map...once I click on "Start Update" on idrive....nothing happens. Any idea what could be the reason? My USB is FAT-32 formatted with 120GB capacity.

Have you used Mac OS to write or unpack maps?
Nothing because a car does not really understand how map folders are located on a usb drive.

ok so I tried to install again and it worked. What I did differently this time was the I unzipped part 1 and part 2 separately and the final size was around 30+GB. Previously I had selected both parts and unzipped them together and the file size was about 20 something GB. Not sure why it makes a difference but it did...thought I'd share for others who might do what I did previously.

Thanks for all your help on this BadSeed. I think one of your original zip files (part 2) has gone corrupt. I downloaded the torrent link and installed it successfully but the torrent is version 2020-2. Do you have the torrent link for 2022-1?

Maybe somebody in the future will also look for the same question so I am updating the post with a solution.

The problem with why I got the error was my zip file was not extracted properly.
If you have the same error. Please download the file again to make sure everything thing is ok. And then extract the file again. Then maps update should work

After a successful install, the maps are no longer being displayed. Turn by turn works on the HUD with audio. Maps just aren't displaying.

Anyone know what's going on?

Thanks OP!! I have a question. What are the differences between following the instruction on this thread and paying for the service (bimmer-tech, Bimmer America, etc)? I am wondering if it is worth spending money on the map update.

Can anyone explain the numbering system for the maps? For example, on my head unit the current map version shows NA Next 2015-2, but this map says NA Next 2022-1. Is there a difference between -1 and -2? Will this map work for me?

Typically map has 2 releases per year. -1 in 1st half of year followed by -2 in second half of year. So long as it is NEXT map, it will work.
