Reverse wing mirror dip

The reverse wing mirror dip on my car works intermittently - about 50% of the time. Is there a software reset procedure like on the tilt sunroof?

All other electric functions on the wing mirrors are fine - folds, manually tilts and moves, just the auto dip function does so only half the time.

Been this way a year, and has improved a bit since I buzzed the assembly with WD40

Any ideas??

Somebody had a post exactly like this one a couple months or so ago. In fact, I thought it was the same one with a new reply that brought it back up top. You might find that and PM that OP.

Question...are you familiar with how to disable the tilt-in-reverse feature? If not...can you definitely say that the switch is NOT in the disable position the times that it DOES NOT work?

The mirror setting point on the door card is in the correct position.
This is not the issue.

May work

This may actually sort out the reverse dip mirror issue

"Slide the mirror selector switch to the passenger position.
Momentarily touch the mirror adjustment switch.
Slide the mirror selector switch back to the driver's side.
Normal tilt operation will be resumed."
