This is a great niche that appeals to a lot of people. For me personally a 6 is impractical because it has 2 doors. A 7 is a boat and uninspiring to drive. An M5 is out of my budget and even a 550 MSport is very quiet and kinda boring. This car gives you 5 series size and practicality with a more performance oriented drive. I can't wait to see and drive it!

Agree that this is what the 5 series should look like. Calling this car a 6 is brand management malpractice.

Or, this could take a very deep breath, hold it, swell up and become the 7. Whether one liked the E64 or not, this is the company that made the E24--beautiful --COUPE-- is what 6 should mean.

Pretty sedan, though.

I really like the front and rear profile but hate the side one. It looks too long and there's something about the nose from the side that I really don't like.

Quick question regarding the M6 and the 6 series in general, I don't really know anything about this series but I was under the impression that there was no noticeable performance difference between the M5 and M6. Is this true or are the 6's better performers??

I think this car will be priced around 70K-73K for 650iGC, and the 640i GC will be another 5K less.

The 65K-75K market is very crowded right now for BMW, they have a 740i, M3,550i GT, X6 and now the possibility of the 650i GC V8.

Once they have an individual for this car it will be awesome.

Agreed. This will start at $73K square at the CLS. It'll be right in between the 550i (61K) and the 650i (83K).

the bones of this thing are going to be all f10, but you'll pay the 12K premium for the f12 styling and ride height. Hopefully, it will be a platform for updated engines & steering as both the N55 and N63 are due for updates to combat MB's new 3.5LV6 and biturboV8.

this is an old game by now. the X6 did it to the X5, the CLS did it to the E-class, now the A7 to the A6, now the 6GC to the 5er.

In the compacts, the A5-SB did to the A4 and the X4 will do to the X3.

Basically, there's a market for all of these vehicles and certainly, these vehicles are cheap to produce from an R/D point of view. There's no vestment in new tech, but a healthy mark up in selling price.

While they share the same engines with the 5 series in both regular and M guise, the 6's are better performers as they are lighter, and better balanced, and they have a more agressive exhaust tune that really sounds great

Unfortunately, while I was hoping this was the case, it doest not appear it will be such. The GC will be more expensive than the 6er from everything I've heard and read. Its actually a larger car on a different platform than the 5er and 6er as it uses the 5er GT platform, so its wider and longer. BMW has already said in M guise that the 6er GC will become the "flagship" M, whatever that means, and is rumored to have more power than either the new M5 or M6 will be offered with. So, I have little faith that this car will cost less than $100K in the US, as a reasonably equitped 650i prices out at $98K, and there is no talk of a 640GC being offered in the states at this point....but if anyone has seen anything different I'd love to think it possible as I was looking at the GC as my next car, but....
