BMW boss has recently stated that he was going to simplify the process and the lineup.

It takes money to diversify product lines and suppliers- think of increased inventory on-hand, training- not to mention delivering the right product to the final customer.

As BMW moves away from being the #1 seller, they are going to have to cut the niche products and go to 4 sedans, 4 SUVs and 4 coupes. Get rid of all the excess stuff. 2 engines apiece with an M model at the top of the line.

If not, they'll be new leadership pretty soon.

Of course that rumour was pie in the sky but I think this GT move was daft and BMW would have been better off aiming for the rumour than this.

Boy some BMW director is stubborn and has no people around him who can tell him NO.

Its like I come to a bar and ask for a drink, they pour me fish oil, and I say NO. Then they put a bit of mint leaves on top with "how about now?" and Im still NO.

Please stop pushing this car. The 5 Series Touring is probably all US market would like instead of this. You want a big TALL estate? Buy X5. Want SPORTY lifestyle coupe-ish one ? Buy X6. Why this? Just admit fish oil and water aint a good drink unless those are prescribed and move on.

Are they intent on diluting the brand to the max? Who is buying this car, whats the demographic? Every salesman deserves an award. I have no doubt it is a nice practical car, just like Fiat Multipla was.
