Damn Flo I’m sorry to hear that but glad that you’re ok. Welcome back to M6 community again, you’re for sure you didn’t waste any time to hop back in to a new f06 M6. Btw, the car looks mint.

Oh Yea - Alpine white is pretty fresh, I must admit! Definitely going to try to out-do my last M6!

Definitely puts things/life into perspective. Got a new car less than a month after. Not so true for a life. I'll be sure to try to introduce more car porn for you moving forward lol

Getting a new car asap was definitely part of the healing process! Thanks my man

"overwhelmed but also excited" - you nailed it! Frustrating trying to source parts, get appointments with various shops, etc. Tough...buuut all the while excited to see this one come to life.

Dude so sorry to hear this - came to the thread expecting to see the next amazing update - although I guess in a way a newer lower mileage F06 is a great update too! Glad to hear you're ok and I'm excited to see the plans for the new car - I'm sure it'll be even better.

Thanks, man! Appreciate that…and yeah, I guess now it’s time to start looking on the bright side (car wise) and move forward with this build. Who knows, maybe I’ll end up liking it better!

So here in round two what will you repeat from the first build and what will you change? I am curious about what you learned that could inform your approach here.

Tbh, I had no issues with my previous set up and I pretty much plan to repeat it with minor tweaks here & there. I was able to salvage my intake, charge coolers, downpipes, Meisterschaft mid section, and my steering wheel. So all of those will be going on this car. To complete the exhaust, I've gone with Meisterschafts SGT system. It's their non-valved track exhaust. Although my set up sounded great with the Megan Racing mufflers, I have a feeling it's going to be next level now.
I will be getting a stage 3 meth kit installed again but with bigger nozzles to spray a little more volume (#6 vs #4). And I went with my same tuner, Mission Performance for my file. I think I'm going to run an e85/93 mix as well with the tune as the owner of the tuning company recommended it to get the most out of the car, safely.

Aesthetically, I'm going with a different shade of grey for the wheels as well as getting the calipers coated a different color. I'm definitely doing a front lip (Dinmann I believe) and possibly side skirts as well. And maybe a couple of other small changes like carbon fiber side mirror replacements. There's a few other things I'm considering but that won't be until later this year or early spring.

Thanks for this reply. I think the carbon on white is a really nice look. The contrast makes it stand out much more than on black paints. Definitely like the idea of carbon mirror caps. Have you found good F06 side skirts? There are more choices for the F12/13, it seems. I am looking forward to following the build!

If I do side skirts I probably go with Dinmann as well to match the aggression of their front lip. It should all pair well with the Vorsteiner style diffuser.

Another option for side skirts if you're looking is Maxton Design. No real CF option but the gloss black does look nice.

Dinmann is only 30 mins away from me. Yes their CF aero is very unique and kinda rare that you don’t see them often and not like Vorsteiner. I’m on my second front lip now with in 7 months and I think I’m going with Dinmann front and sides next time I mess up my front lip again.

Dinmann aero would definitely pop and look good on your AW.

Sheeshh, two in 7 months is no fun. Especially if they’re near the price point of Dinmann’s. But yeah, they are rare like you said. I think that’s part of what drew me toward them. I originally was going with the Vorsteiner GTS-V lip which is also kind of rare (it’s not the V style a lot of people have) but I ended up liking the contours of the Dinmann version a little more. When you really study its detail, you’re able to see how it follows the bumper lines quite well.

Keeping things moving here with some more progress on the car.

What's been done thus far:

-Front bumper refinished/painted
-VRSF Catless DP's
-Full Meisterschaft GTC System
-Meisterschaft tips powder coated satin black
-Stage 2 Mission Performance Tune
-NGK Plugs gapped to .020
-Oil Changed via Motul Sport 5w40
-H&R Lowering Springs
-Project Gamma Charge Coolers
-Project Gamma Intakes with custom filters
-Hawk Performance Ceramic Pads (All 4 corners)
-Calipers powder coated Prismatic Gold
-Swapped M Performance electronic wheel for the M Performance non electronic wheel
-Macht Schnell 12mm spacers in the rear
-Wheels powder coated Evo Grey
-WMI Installed but not running yet (waiting for a custom tank and new controller)
-Window tint re-done (20%), door handle chrome piece wrapped gloss black and tail lights lightly tinted just like my previous m6

Bumper came out amazing - literally perfect

I had the tips finished in satin black but I had them leave the center bar exposed steel. I guess that's GTHaus signature look so I wanted to keep that visible. This was done via my local powder coater, not GTHaus.

This GTC system. Man, does it sound crazy. It's definitely louder than my previous set up - a little more than I would've guessed. But the tone/high pitch is just so "exotic" IMO. The overrun burbles (I hate that word) are extremely noticeable. I never heard them with my prior set up but you definitely do now. I'm not a fan of tuned-in burbles as they sound...robotic if you will? But these sound extremely natural and they're different every time they occur - making for a true authentic sound. Downshift from 3rd to 2nd at say 50mph and whew, watch out.

I decided to change the caliper color because for me the blue just got washed away with the black wheels. Yeah, I know I'm changing the wheel color but it will still be on the darker-end and I wanted a nice pop of color. So in comes gold. I know some may think "oh you're faking like you have CCB's" but that's definitely not what I'm doing. In fact, I made sure to go with a darker gold color as I personally like this better than the more faint gold that's offered with the CCB's. But yes, of course the gold color theme stemmed from BMW's CCB's.

The car is currently on jackstands in my garage as I wait for the wheels to be completed so no real photos of the car to show. Definitely more work to be done including a full CF aero kit and the GAW rear diff brace that I just received. But next up starting this week is a full paint correction/coating. Wish my back some luck!

Appreciate it, fellas!

LintonM6GC I’m running the H&r sport springs again. However, the rear isn’t as low as my previous set was. Before I could not fit one finger inside the top of the fender, now I can. Kind of a bummer for me because I liked the almost tucked look from before.

Thanks man. I was thinking about picking some up but just wanted to get clarification before i do. You must love the ride with those springs because your running them again.

Also are you getting less noise with the Hawk Ceramic pads compared to the BMW? I know they will give off way less dust but what about the dreaded squeal?

Yeah I'm a fan of the H&R's. I always ride with suspension in Sport in normal driving and I think it rides just fine. Sport + when driving aggressive. Never in comfort.

I actually didn't run stock pads on either M6 long enough to really hear any squealing. But I definitely don't hear it with the Hawks. It does take a good minute to break them in - maybe 100-150 miles. So keep that in mind if you opt for them.

I was thinking of painting my calipers gold too for a pop of colour against my matte black F06...

What paint did you use and how did you prep it? Difficulty rating out of 10??

Looks like you have done a great job - can't wait to see full car photos when its all back together
