Why don't I have side turn signal blinkers?

Hi,

I looked at my side markers and they don't have turn signals? What gives?

My friend has a 2015 640i coupe rwd f13 and his has turn signals on these pieces. Is there a way to retrofit the turn signals?

Mine is a 2016

They were moved to the side mirrors in 16. Not sure if anyone has tried to move them back.

Yeah, it's actually in the upper right corner of your picture.

I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to retrofit.
You could probably run a wire through the fender to the headlight and splice into the turn signal wire.

ha ha,in uk most folk want mirrow side markers,,suppose its the way modding goes,wharever you have you want to change it

i was going to advise you to look at the front cover of your mirrors, the blinkers moved to here with the LCI refresh however Opie has pointed this out, yes in the top corner of your pic you can see them. Personally I prefer them here in the mirrors. My car is a late 2015 LCI so has this and the other small interior and exterior updates.

I wonder why BMW left it there once they moved the turn indicator to the mirror? What is the purpose of that shiny side thingy that serves no purpose?

To answer my own question…I guess since the F chassis six series was going to be a one & done model…to manufacture totally different front fenders was more cost prohibitive vs the little side marker.

it houses one of the radars for park assist primarily plus a little fillet of chrome does break the side panel up nicely in my opinion.

I have had mine off, and there was nothing behind it besides sheet metal.

To me, it looks like a complete after thought or lack of imagination/aka critical thinking when they decided to move it to the mirrors and leave the hole.

Totally agree that it was a $$ decision.

I wrapped mine black, so they look way better now.

Ahhh…didn’t think of that. So if you have the park assist option (S5DPA)…there was no reason to move that sensor so they left the chrome thingy there.

It all depends on the model. In your car, you have them in the side mirrors. I know practically everything about the blinkers of my car. It all started when I got my driver's license. My father bought me a car, and he said that I needed to refill the blinker fluid before starting to drive because he bought a car without it. I didn't know it was a prank, so I bought it from sadanduseless.com. It was delivered the next day, and my father was at home. He was laughing a lot because he didn't think I would believe him, and I didn't understand that it was a prank.
