im real happy with mission tuning. Alex will tune it how you desire. I preferred to keep it right below stock clutch max... which is a very noticeable gain.

You will probably notice it but dramatically faster....I don’t think so. Do you want more torque or more top speed? You will notice more throttle response which feels faster acceleration. We are talking in 1/10sec.

more overall power..i would think 80 hp 100 torque would be a dramatic increase? no? or is that not what bootmod3 offers..

If you are looking for 100 Nm increase in torque you will end up above 1200$ I guess.
I have an AC Schnitzer performance upgrade
M6 with engine S63B44T0
and 412 kW / 560 hp standard performance
performance: 456 kW / 620 hp
torque standard: 680Nm
torque AC Schnitzer: 790Nm
specifications only when using at least 98 octane fuel
10.000€ +

I also went with Mission Performance. I looked at it like for the extra money you get a well known tuner that knows what he is doing, if you have an issue again you have someone that knows what they are doing. With Bootmod you are limited to OTS unless you pay more and get a custom tune which would put you over the $1500 mark. With a car this expensive, peace of mind goes a long way IMO.

He does add burbles and I have no idea what full burnout mode is but it might have something to do with locking up the front brakes so you can do a standstill burn out to warm up drag radials. I'll ask him, I haven't heard about it until now. I also noticed he lowered the price of the tune BTW to $1,249 for stage 2 with M-boot so you can go between maps on your laptop.

I would say the stage 2 tune with DP's is more like 650 to M6 but even more powerful than that. The stock tires lose traction at the top of second and into 3rd, you have to really ease into it and learn how to control the car once it's making that much low end torque with it being rear wheel drive. I threw on 315/30/20 NT01 drag radials to help with traction.

I’ve been running DME Stage 3 on my car for over 3 years now. I absolutely love it, I’ve never had an issue and their customer service is beyond great. If you’re looking for bang for you buck DME is the way to go. They’ll get you a ton of power and reliability out of their tunes as my M6 is pretty much my daily.

I have to slow roll the throttle in 3rd gear or ill light up the rears... on 295 Mich pilot sports. Will be going to 305/4s to help that out this spring. Without the tune, I could mash it in 3rd without issue

I am running an OTS Maps from PTF (the guys of Bootmod 3 - BM3) and I am running these on both of my cars. I am extremely happy thus far. I have tested it more extensively on my F32 435iXdrive (as the 6 series sleeps most of the winter...) and both performance at all stages as well as V-MAX are working fantastically. Zero errors thus far and no issues whatsoever. I got the 2 licenses during Black Friday days and saved a lot of bucks.
Previously my 4 series had a customized tune by a German company in the Stuttgart area which cost me a whopping 1300 Euro..... at the time when the ECUs weren't "officially" cracked yet and had thus to be removed to get tuned.

Last November I ran a complete software update and then installed the BM3 tune. I am much happier with this OTS tune by PTF than with the one before!
Even without a pure custom tune the maps provided by the dudes at PTF offer an excellent performance out of the box in my opinion. I personally and strongly recommend them along with their BM3 tune.

did you go with the MAP sensor upgrades?
I did not do the map sensor upgrades, that's for people trying to break over 800whp with supporting mods like methanol, new clutches, etc.

Do the stage 2 with Mboot so you can switch between stage 1, 2, and stock. Then you can have more or less power whenever you want.

I am considering BM3 and would be interested in hearing pluses, and negatives...don't wish for clutch slippage or other problems but have been told stage 1 is over 700hp at the flywheel. That's a huge increase-how does the car feel after such a change?

Below is a video I posted on the BM3 OT2 stg3 93 octane. I have downpipes, charcoal delete and running R888R on back. I have been running each updated version of the OTS stg2 that comes out. They are getting better and better. Each version keeps getting updated and bugs fixed. The first one I ran a couple years ago had some gremlins and then each version those gremlins started to disappear. But, that was when it was more beta for our platform. I feel the OTS maps have been safe so far in my experience. You just need to check your logs after the updated versions load so you understand how your car responds to it. I run my laptop with it and like it that way. I am no professional mechanic by any means, but you have to use a little common sense with these cars. DO NOT OVERHEAT THEM, you will pay for it later. With the OTS tune I have ran the car pretty hard, but I let it cool properly. You have to remember you are pushing the perimeters of the engine the more you demand from it. Life cycles of the metals, bearings, rotating assemblies are only made for so much resistance and duty and when you start adding boost (the death of engines!) you start shortening the life cycles of those components. Now, that being said, if your are more of a weekend warrior with these cars and just want to drive to starbucks/car shows, then I really wouldn't worry about it. A STG2 from the big name guys on this forum will more than be enough and for the most part be extremely safe in my opinion. These guys have a ton of data from different driving conditions that they build these maps from. If you get a tune there is no way around it, you will have to get some stickies on back. Also remember this car is extremely heavy and you do not want to have to replace broken drive part unless you are mechanically inclined and even then they are a pain. If you want a car to track or just beat the living heck out of then this probably isn't the car to do that with.
I can tell you that unless you are in TX, FL, OK areas then you are going to have a really hard time finding guys that can even keep up with you on a stg2 (unless you are an avid street racer and know a ton of modded car guys). I have been through a lot of ups and downs with this car, some were the car gods punishing me and some where just the natures of this car. They are very fun, but can get away from you quick and they are hard to recover in when they do because they are so heavy (remember this with a tune especially). And for god sake, please remember these cars do not stop like sports cars because they are heavy. Do not get cooking on the highway and think your are going to stop on a dime before you get up to that family in the minivan. You have to respect these cars due to their weight, I promise you.

Agreed on the Mission Tuning. Alex did a custom stage 1 for me and the car is just amazing. Alex is very knowledgeable!
