For example a 5 or 10 second penalty for both would mean P1 and P2 for SAI and LEC + P3 and P4 for PER and VER. RUS (P5) arrived 11s968 after PER.
Ferrari have withdrawn the protest on Perez.

What for? Hope it's not picky bullshit!!!

I'm not big on penalties deciding a race even if it would give the win to Ferrari

Just in: complaints of Ferrari have been dismissed.

Perez: "Ferrari conceded that Car 11 did not have any part of its front or rear tyres on the
left of the yellow line and conceded"
https://www.fia.com/sites/default/fi...20Car%2011.pdf

Verstappen: "All parties agreed that Car 1 did have part of its front left and rear left tyre on the left side of the yellow line. All parties agreed that most of the left front and left rear tyres of that car remained on the yellow line."
"the car did not “cross” the line – to do so it would have needed to have a full wheel to the left of the yellow line."
https://www.fia.com/sites/default/fi...%20Car%201.pdf

Ferrari has a right to appeal.

So it looks like stewards decided in the same way as regarding track limits violations: wheels may drive on the track limits lines and partially past, but not fully past.

Breaking news Max in the clear also after Fia reject Ferrari protest, they had no chance with that desperate accusation.

These are some screenshots of Max' pit exit from LEC's view.
I think Checo crossed the line more.(lots of footage of that)

To me this doesn't look like Max crossing the line. Maybe his rear wheel touched the line (his front wheel for sure didn't):

I'm sure that if you would examine every exit from the race you would find examples of drivers crossing that line more.

Yup. It was clear VER crossed the line on the replay during the race but is it enough to penalize? We'll see if rules are rules or if it's just to the discretion of whoever has final say.

I seem to remember LEC getting away with one earlier this season so I'm good. That's a chicken $hit protest anyway.

That's for sure

Ferrari is getting desperate. If they can't win on a bumpy twisty track that favours their car, it's going to be harder on fast tracks.

...but it won't be the first time that a team looses from RB because of making too many strategic failures in a year

I see this time there was a professional chequered flag waver at end of race as opposed to the amateurish one last year.

Read the decision of the stewards: left wheels of VER were still on the line. If a wheel would have been fully left of the yellow line ("crossing"), it was a violation.

Same applies to qualifying: a lap time is deleted if a wheel is fully next to the line (off-track). As well as during a race: black & white flag after 3 warnings of fully crossing track limits.

Now if Ferrari can show video footage of a wheel of VER fully left of the yellow line upon exiting the pitlane, it will have a case for appeal.

If teams want the yellow pitlane line to be considered a "wall" that may not be touched with wheels, rules should be modified.

Man sucks for lec, Ferrari showing off their clown face again... It might have been too good to be true, Ferrari just can't cope with pressure.

It's strange that Ferrari stays with Binotto when he has been making bad strategic decisions for years. He cost Vettel some victories.

Glad to see Checo win.

On a side note a decent video analyzing how teams progressed with fixing porpoising:

Except they don't come back to that.
I really hate it when things like that are said in video's...
Anyway, we all know now that the insanely stiff suspension setup with a low ride height of the MERC's is part of their solution against porpoising next to their new floor.
I wonder how that's going to be next week in Baku. Another street circuit. Maybe not as bumpy as Monaco (I really don't know tbh), but very high speeds.
The MERC's have top speed, but will it be enough?
