► Extra Washers?

i was doing an oil change on my m6 today and noticed in the oil filter box it came with:

1. oil filter rubber o-ring
2. drain plug washer
3. bigger washer
4. smaller rubber o-ring

i changed 1 + 2 but couldn't find where items 3 + 4 are located.

The e70 X5M & e71 X6M uses the same oil filter kit...and they have an additional screw plug that uses the parts that you pictured. They are used for #3 & #4 in the diagram below which is for an additional drain plug in the oil filter cover (#2). If for some reason you had to replace #2 (the oil filter cover) and the replacement has a drain plug...then you will need to use those additional pieces:

Noticed the same thing and assumed they were for another model. Cars not blown up yet so I think I'm all good
