So it seems with every m car I get the audio system gets shittier...the enhanced system in my e92 m3 was GREAT THEN THE F82 m4 system was ok, but this M6GC B&o system when you really wanna blast it at 85%+ sucks and it turns out I blew my left door main speaker and as of 2 days ago the right main front door one blew too...I don't think it's crazy to want to play stuff loud, it's the stock B&O system...I'm still within warranty so I'm going in on an appt Thursday and I assume the blown speakers will be replaced then but still, I bet they blow again...not a very good audio system

I don't think they had hip-hop in mind when they designed the system, or all you'd have are woofers and tweeters.

I blew an e93 seat sub and was replaced under warranty so this should be covered as well. Did it blow due to volume alone or perhaps a bass note? Might want to consider adding a sub to alleviate the bass strain.

I think I did, left rear door, it’s a cheap setup. Speakers are made in third world countries. I’m going to wait till I blow one that impacts listening and redo the whole system.

"Speakers are made in third world countries" Are you suggesting it failed on construction or simply failed on design?

Both, they’re not made of quality materials. Cheaply made. If you pull them out you’ll see. The Bang and Olufsen package is more of a marketing thing with the aluminum grills, fancy lights and motorized center speaker. The silver grills acutually muffle much of the sound coming from the speakers with the little salt shaker holes. Looks won me over because I’m not that much of an audiophile but definitely sub-par system. I can add a link that’s a tad more in depth but basically the components aren’t high end brands but the high end brands tune and design the system.

Scroll down a bit and you’ll read the guy describing and showing pictures of the “special option” Burmester package speakers. The same goes for the BMW M6, the amp isn’t even Bang and Olufsen if I remember right (not 100% on that). I plan to have my whole system redone with custom speaker grills and so forth but right now I’ve got too many projects to going on to throw another $10,000 into this car just for better sound quality. I’m not saying it’s bad, I’m just saying it’s not by far worth the original option price. If you can live without fancy lights and bezels just throw 4K at base system and literally blow away B&O. lmk if any other questions about this system.
