I'm not sure what's worse. The kid speeding or the cop not taking his ass straight to jail.

That's good advertising for the Impreza!
That was definitively reckless driving.

Valparaiso, IN has a population of only 150,000 or so. I imagine their highways are not that crowded. It's not uncommon to see people doing that sort of thing in the Midwest on the open highway.

I have a court date in February. I got caught by a temporary cop camera last March traveling at 212KM/H - 132.5 MPH after correction on the highway. It wont be pretty. Guess what I was driving at the time.... yup my WRX.

My old WRX.

Problem is, the car feels like nothing unless you really push it.. so, like a complete idiot, you push it sometimes and of course.. you get the consequences.

Kid needs to invest in a radar detector. How do you have an Impreza and not have one? If you have one you obviously like speed...

A friend of mine has one. They're fun cars, but not my style.

I HAD an Impreza.. it was a 2005 model and I also modified it. I replaced it this summer because for 70% of the time it was like sitting in a low-rent taxi in traffic instead of being able to really drive it. So, on those odd occasions where there wasn't traffic, unfortunately, I drove it too fast - because that's all it could really do.

I modified it with circuit driving in mind (the picture shows it and me at the Nurburgring in the spring). It had big brakes (Stoptech + Ferodo DS2500 pads), custom suspension, lightweight wheels, Bridgestone RE50A tyres, full Invidia equal length header, big downppipe, race cat and free flowing muffler, it ran custom software etc. It was fun, but pointless as an everyday car.

Previous to that I've had GTis, VR6 Corrados, Porsche 911, various modified Saab turbos and an Audi RS 2 Avant... so yes I like driving. I like to *feel* like I'm driving.. but here the roads are just too damn straight.. and it's getting harder to have the thrill of just driving, hence why I do so much time on circuits.

So my huge indiscretion basically boils down to being massively into driving, completely bored by the lack of real driving roads on which to enjoy such a car at lower speeds (as can be found in my native Scotland) and a temporary serious lack of judgement and sense.

Oh I wasn't referring to you in my post. I was kind of thinking about the kid while I was typing.

I agree, they do feel cheap, low rent. Thats precisely why I don't like them. That and they carry kind of a street racer image.

At that speed he should have just kept going. No way in hell the cop was going to catch him. Especially him being at a stand still and the kid doing 140mph. Before the cop could even pull out to start the kid would be 2 miles gone already.

I don't condone this in any way. Just saying haha.

What a good little boy. Reminds me of the loads of teenagers with Jap imports on our Australian roads. They all end up dead.

Too funny.

On my way from Chicago to South Bend on the Indiana Toll Road, went traveling quite close to Valporaiso, i floored it out of an empty toll road stop after picking up my toll ticket. Didnt take my foot of the gas untill i saw the lights of other cars ahead, was going mighty fast that the time.
