Was Mercedes sandbagging like usual ?

I don't think that Max will see it like a make or break situation, he'll go at the pace that suits him.

It's widely believed (by the experts) that Checo will need at least FIVE races to get up to proper pace with the 16B, that leads me to believe that he could have a tough time dealing with McLaren and Merc while he's learning.

These journalists get into places where we can't and are really the one's to go by as the secretiveness gets more from the teams with what they have got.

Perez should be on speed in his first weekend, 5 races is too much, that’s stupid.
He has done lots of simulations last months and many racing years.

His over estimated team mate did win his first GP for Red Bull without all of that. ( youngest GP winner )
