Bmw 645 Ci won't start- help!

Dealer said my DME has corrosion. Possible to purchase a used unit and get it programmed so it communicates?! Help please!

The DME is "moister proofed". If the board damaged or do you have corroded contacts on the connectors.

Google bmw E63 IVM. There are many good threads on the topic. This is a common no start failure on the E63.

Unit and engine harness have corrosion. Dealership says I should just trash the car. Are they right?

Was this car in a salt water flood? The ECUs are around $3K each and the plugs will have to likely be replaces as well. You could try some "jewelry" cleaner (tarnex or equivalent) on the contacts and connectors. If you can get them clean, spray on WD40 or some other form of corrosion protection.

No, never has has any kind of damage. I was totally confused about how that could have happened. Frustrating
