From Birmingham? Drive, and take wipes for your hotel etc. I would call ahead to the hotel and request that your room be sanitized, but donít rely on them doing it well.

Hopefully people who have any symptoms have gotten the word and are staying home.

Well I work from home 90+% of the time. I was in Ga last week visiting a client and will be in Miami on Wednesday visiting my primary client. I do not plan to cancel unless I get sick over the next couple of days or they cancel. I know my primary client has restricted travel for employees.

My wife works in a law firm that has distributed questionnaires about working from home. They have added more hand sanitizer and emphasized staying home if sick. The building manager is also cleaning door knobs daily.

However, nothing is fool proof. It is already out there. These measures are wise but people are still traveling personally, shopping, going to restaurants, etc. so I expect the spread will continue on. I also expect a spike in reported cases as more tests are distributed. These may indicate there are a lot more people who have it, but a lower severity / casualty rate.

Where did they get it from? Every store around here has been emptied out of hand sanitizer, rubbing alcohol, aloe gel, bleach, all household cleaning sprays, etc. People are such asshats.

Probably commercial packaging or had it stock? Our local supermarket still has bleach but put a limit of 2 bottles in it. I think hand sanitizer and bleach-based cleaning sprays are gone but not 100% certain. Havenít really thought about alcohol, but I think we have some.

Mine just banned foreign and domestic travel for the next couple of months.

Also had a local meeting. No more handshakes, wash your hands, stay home if sick, etc.

Not very extreme, but addressing it.

Of course only 0.00001% of the population actually has contracted the virus.

No visitors allowed in our facility because it is a manufacturing plant. Same for all of our plants. Had 2 visits this week that I had to cancel. Will be planning to work from home at least 1-2x per week myself (usually work from home about 1-2 times per month).

We've gotten two emails from our Safety Manager with summarized CDC info and links. That's it.

I'm in an office at a desk job with no real public interaction so I'm not really concerned. I'd like the option to work from home, but I don't think our company has capacity to send out laptops quick enough to make that happen.

Some of the sales folks travel their respective state, and there are a few trade shows coming up. It'll be interesting to see if the trade show gets canceled, or if my company decides against attending.

I work in healthcare supply chain so every day is more and more of a fire drill for a lot of people on my team.

Our service office has restricted air-travel. I'm non-essential in day-to-day ops so I may be told to work remote if/when it breaks out locally. We've told our vendors to mitigate travel here as well and to hold more remote meetings.

Was supposed to travel this week, but the trip got cancelled last week.

We also have an office in the Seattle area that has told everyone to work from home for the next two weeks.

CFO just called me and asked how I (Network Admin) am setup to allow users to work remote...simple, install Barracuda VPN Client onto home PC, authenticate via Active Directory, and then RDP onto local machine. Sons Soccer league sent out notices last week about no handshake and such after game...only tap elbows. Similar to his schools emailing...no physical contact with other students and common practices; stay home if sick, cover mouth when coughing...

This is honestly showing just how ill-prepared my company's clients are. Many of them are school districts and have zero clue what they are going to do. It's not that many of them can't function remotely from a hardware/software standpoint, it's that they don't know what to do and have zero plans in place.

Most of us have the ability to work from home and have been given the option to do so if we're uncomfortable coming into the office (especially those relying on public transport).

The company has banned all but absolutely necessary travel and I have had to cancel several client trips to New Jersey / Chicago / California.

Curious to see how things develop as it seems as though cases in this area are just starting to pick up.

Travel restricted to Japan, Italy, China and South Korea. Recommended to not travel if you don’t need to do so. More hand sanitizer throughout the campus.

That’s basically all so far, though we’re supposed to get an update from the CEO on their plan sometime in the next few days.

Kid’s school has canceled or postponed any large extra-curricular events like their charity ball, father daughter dance, etc. Wouldn’t be surprised if they shut down by the end of the week based on a student or student’s relative coming back as positive based on how things have been going in the area.
