He sold me a bogus used license. Will not answer messages.

I received a verification email from bootmod, so I sent him the money. In the end, bootmod says it is a scam and the transfer is not any good. So now I am out that money.

A mod should ban him before someone else gets scammed.

He is somehow able to send a fake verification email that looks like it is from bootmod. They sent me a bunch of information to verify this. There is a post about this on the BM3 Facebook page. More info there.

I sent 1/2 the money up front, then the other half when I got the "verification" email, that was actually fake. So I sent the other half.

Dude is garbage.

Mods need to ban him. Who are the mods? I need to contact them.

I actually almost bought a BM3 from him, but red flags all over the place so I decided not to.

The screenshot of his BM3 on the app doesn't show "Transfer my License" option which should be there once his car is relocked and license is ready for transfer.

Also, don't trust people who are new to forums with for sale threads.

Hope you can chargeback with your credit card company.

Yes, bmw6er did sane to me total scam.

I messaged moderator here and didn't get a reply which I find really crummy.

I also considered buying a revenant amp from "Covid" but also a scammer.

If mods do nothing it will simply ramp up, if they do something it won't stop it but mind blown I could still see someone who scammed me scamming others on here and no action by bimmerpost.

If you don't want to be a moderator let someone else.

There's a lot of this on here, as (compared to some other forums) it's very easy to set up a new account and start posting in the classifieds. There was a guy selling an Akra exhaust on here not long ago, red flags all over the place. I (and others probably) did report it and the mods removed him quite swiftly after.

As others have said, be super vigilant.

In case you're trying to scrape the exif data from the pictures, they've either been wiped prior to uploading, or taken off someone's post and then mirrored (always done in the case someone tries to verify it by reverse imaging the file.... ). Maybe you think you're your going to be clever and try and locate my system info through the network I used by reaching out to one of the mods...... No use sir, my Ip address and Mac ID has been routed via a chained, socks 5 proxy, bridged using a VPN. You'll have yourself spinning in circles trying to trace the 50 different exit nodes I took before closing out my browser... But IF you're lucky, you'll see the nice memo I left at the last exit node that links to a dead landing page. I'll tell you what, if you can tell me what that page says, and the contents of it, I will happily give you your money back. As for my phone line, *hint* it's not one of those shitty google voice numbers you can trace back, it's a designated sim hosted cellular network platform not even the pigs will be able to trace it back... Actually, they can, if they try real real hard. Except poor Jeremy Jones will be the one waking up to guns drawn in his face for grand theft cyber crime. Social engineering was my specialty when I used to be part of the hacker's network few years back. I started venturing into dangerous waters messing around with hacked intel and selling it on the black market... But, why am I telling you all this? I don't know, I'm just a little ffucking bored and this whole Corona virus has me going mad. You know, . Sometimes I wonder why I bother... After all, the bigger fish are out there... I can essentially spoof myself to be a financial institution, a creditor, a lendor, a government official or agency.... GO after the real dineros.... what an absolute fucking cretin. Please contact the mods (they won't be checking every post) and request to get this stickied. Users need to be more aware how easy it is to scam on the classifieds section.

I imagine it's too late for whoever got scammed on the AMG forums, but if you have time you may aswell post on there and message their mods.

Sorry that people like this exist and got you this time. I doubt he's a happy person.

In my experience they only reach back out if they need further assistance. They do send a confirmation or acknowledgement of some sort.

Intent here is to help them create a profile so if not now at least in the future they can help stop or detect once a pattern has been created.

Hope you recoup all or some of your lost $$$.

Sorry this happened to you OP. I'm no super sleuth. I was only one of a few others who happened to catch a sloppy scammer.

Best advice I can give is to hand the Paypal info over to the police.

Always pay with goods/services via paypal and never friends/family
