640d Apple Car Play

Good day all,

Apologies if this has been covered before….but….can anyone tell me if Apple CarPlay should start up automatically on the iDrive screen as soon as I connect the cable to the phone?…instead of having to go through the menus?? It’s getting increasingly frustrating seeing other peoples cars connect straight away as soon as they plug their phone in!! 🤷🏻*♂️

It's wireless Car play.

Once connected, the next time it starts up automatically when the phone is near the car
