Hi No the F10 will not work since it's a a different shape. The might be an all new f12 unit at the end of the year.

Very interested in this - my only question surrounds the surround and back up view cameras in real life operation. If you are in the android (or carplay) mode, does it automatically switch back to the BMW factory system and display the camera(s) when putting the car in reverse (or selecting the camera button)?
This shows the system is pretty nicely integrated into the display, but it still lives as a separate system from the BMW one. If it automatically switches to the camera view, then I'm sold. |

I di the NBT EVO upgrade to my 2013 M6 from Bimmer-Tech. it was way more expensive by absolutely flawless integration as its all OEM hardware, no touch screen however. I am working up a write up for my install, but this looks pretty interesting

I’ve been speaking with Avin directly since February of this year I’ve had their units on my previous M cars and loved it. In the very beginning they were a little laggy but within the past 4 years they’ve put out some gray stuff with awesome customer service. Once they let me know something I will keep you guys posted!

Got an update from AVINUSA. They said units for the 6 series will be available at the end of the month!
They shared this link and these pictures: https://avinusa.com/10-25-bmw-6-seri...on-system.html |

By way of a clarification, does the BMW system and Android run asynchronously - or 'dual boot' in a manner of speaking? In other words, if I'm running in Android mode and using Waze, will messages or warnings like tire pressure be passed through from iDrive, or must I exit one to get to the other? |

Thanks! I saw that, however it doesn't answer to the degree that I am looking for, as that the statement says that all functions operate as normal - not specifically if you have to be in one mode or another. The way I read that is that the aftermarket system simply does not take away anything from the oem. I am more interested to know if that the oem functions (really the cameras are all I care about it) automatically switch on and override (or display on) the android system if triggered/activated, since the android system appears to operate independently of the oem.

Would you be willing to share what that upgrade set you back, and if it supports Android so I could use Waze?

^.THIS ^ As I'm sure we all hope... the BMW functions are "passed through". My interest is in running my Android apps (like Waze) and FLAC support. Signed up for notifications, so I guess we'll be talking about it again soon. |

the only drawback with this system is that since its touchscreen and with how big the m6 cabin is, i need to lean forward each time i need to touch the screen. other than that, this seems like a solid upgrade for anyone with a pre-lci m6.

Thank you! Not the answer I was hoping for. =( Still though, I think this is still a worthwhile upgrade, especially looking at what these systems go for.
