What's crazy is they want roughly $57k for the 88k mile 2012 M6 Coupe. Dealer Retail per Edmunds for a 2013 is 37k in the US.

Yes (if you mean the one in Melbourne), but the prices of these are off the charts in Oz compared to US... New F13 was in the neighbourhood of $300k AUD, so +$200k USD when new...

I thought the M5/6 V8 was reliable as far as M car engines go?

How do you define reliable? Failing and stranding or needs occasional service/repair beyond maintenance?

As in not having the various issues associated with some m car engines.

Vanos, bearings etc.

As far as M engines go, this current batch is one of their most reliable in history. Both the i6's and V8's need decent maintenance and they'll go for 100+ rather easily. Nothing major as far as I know.
Beats the reliability of the previous generations.

I've owned M cars for 18 years. They have all been rock solid as long as you know how to operate machinery properly. I've never done excessive preventative maint... only oil changes 1/2 intervals. No bearing issues, vanos, SMG problems etc.

Warm them up. Run em hard... cool them down. Put a fan in your garage and run it under the front bumper 24/7. Keeps heat soak to a min and drags all the heat out. Heat is the #1 killer of any car... and the M6 is a hot MF
