Not done it but have a look on www.newtis.info you should be able to find the instructions for removal and fitting, not sure what you'll need in addition to the camera.
Try having a look for 5 series retrofit as the modules that will be needed are likely to be the same. |

I fitted it to my old 5 series, it's straightforward to do, from memory you need to run cables to the headunit, the rest of the wiring is in the boot.
Parts wise, you'll need the TRSVC unit (control module) and camera. the control unit is the same across many BMW's but the camera is specific to the 6 series as it's in the rear emblem. |

Personally I have never done it as both of my cars came factory fitted with it.
Though as I am into upgrades/retrofits in general and always like to read about what is possible and how easy or difficult it is, I have always read that this is one of the "easiest" ones to do and quite standard. Since many have done it there are quite a few documents (DIY guides) around the WWW. |

Since there is an "official" BMW retrofit for this you can get the part numbers in ETK:
https://www.etkbmw.com/bmw/EN/search...E4/ECE/03_1534 The example here is based on a 650i F06 car. Please specify your options within ETK accordingly and you will get the official part numbers necessary for this retrofit. New parts will easily surpass 1000 + labor costs to be added unless DIY. |

Thanks for the info guys.
I saw that the retrofit is available on bmwetka, and by looking at other cars, for example f30 series, reversing camera retrofit is a piece of cake apart from cable re routing, its a simple plug&play job + plus simple coding, no additional hardware is needed. But I'm not so sure about the 6 series. Be nice to see if someone already done the job to tell us. |

Hi,
I was referring to BMWs in general not the 6 in particular. For example I have come across these: http://forum.bmw5.co.uk/topic/132636...mera-complete/ F10 is similar in may respects thus it may give some good hints. Posts are not numbered but it is about halfway on page 1 Here you can get the official DIY (EBA in this case) from BMW for F30-F36 cars: https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/at...p;d=1434827579 And this from our friends at F30Bimmerpost https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=873744 I will try to see if the official EBA for the 6 series can be found. On ETK it mentions an installation time of about 5 hours + an eventual 1 1/2 to be added depending on the condition and equipment of the vehicle. |

Here under (attached) find the official EBA from BMW regarding the retrofit of rearview camera for the various F.X.X 6 series models. While there are no colored pictures in there from the typical DYI guides, it is official and very detailed. Clearly it takes quite some hours and possibly almost a whole day of labor (depending on vehicle configuration) + parts of course.

I don't need it I just want my cars to be well speced. Dislike missing options that should have been standard. Heated steering included.
So far have retrofitted comfort seats. Now that was worth it. |
